Since the dawn of history, our greatest challenge has been to love one another. The problem has always been our ego, this “me” that defends, justifies, attacks, and feels separate and alone. Only awakening to freedom from the “me” brings us such inner peace that we love everyone.
Using the mantra, “This moment now…,” Jim guides us into presence, then we notice what’s true about our inner experience. Our thoughts, beliefs, and “stories,” as well as our feelings and emotions—and even the ego or “I” thought, the “story-teller” we think we are—come and go. Yet “we,” as the seeing, the pure presence behind everything, are always here.
What keeps us in conflict are our triggers, the people and situations that cause us to emotionally react, reinforcing belief in the egoic “me” with its inevitable “self-doubt.” But as we learn to welcome our triggers, we realize we just got caught in an old “story” and its emotion. The past was real when it happened but is not real now.
Best of all, there’s nothing we have to “do.” Just see that we have an ego, but we’re not our ego. Come discover how simple awakening is!
“Loving every minute of this, Jim… Before I met you, my stories were many, my ‘I’–dentity, or ego, had complete control. I was a puppet at the mercy of my past thoughts and future wishes, not to mention my anger which hid my self-loathing underneath. Then we met, and everything began to shift. Your nonjudgmental approach allowed me to see that I was not any ‘story,’ but rather this clear, loving person who is here, now …”
