.....Having spent many years in Africa, I thought about the HH project in Uganda, and looked out at the night sky and penned a little poem inspired by Liane and Chris's project in Uganda...
Here it is, writen this evening a few moments ago..Forgive its stark simplicity...
Under the moonlit shimmer
of an English night sky
I offer the stars a silent prayer
And ask a simple question why
A child in Africa in deep despair
May never know the magic I see
When touched by the spell of a Baobob Tree
And why that child’s dainty nose
Will never know the scent of an English Rose
And why his eyes so clouded with fears
May never know the romance of tears.
And why he can’t dance with life’s joys
As we did when given our first toys.
I pray that every step we take
To reach out and help his unasked for plight
Will bring healing to that child of light
A shadow of a smile, bright dawn after night.
