Frozen in Time
I look at the manzanita tree
with the cactus under it
silhouetted by the sun and shadows.
I wonder - why so many laws
and practices here are frozen in time
spurred by greed and self interest
With profit being the bottom line?
my intention to return to harmony
between man and nature
With the desire to help all life
being the motivating force
goes out to the universe
Change is coming - foreshadowed
by the spirit of the manzanita tree
and the proud cactus
In its shadow
telling of the life inherent
in all nature's sculptures.
