Good morning all,
I joined the Om Times writers segment yesterday. I have read the guidelines and all the links on how to make a smooth and acceptable article. There was one big(to me) portion that I never saw that did not answer a question I have.
Do you accept work which is posted on our personal websites/blogs/social media that has not been published/printed in any magazine? Or does it have to be completely fresh, nowhere to be found online?
Thank you for clearing this up for me. I am excitedly getting acquainted with the process, the types of writer's voices and topics that people have shared and getting prepared to submit my pieces for next month!

Hi, Jessica - yes, we prefer offerings that are as fresh as possible. We have also accepted articles that have been published on personal websites (maybe not widely distributed), or that may be excerpted from books or other published materials that the author may provide. It must be your original work. I believe these expectations are detailed in the submission guidelines, here: http://omtimes.com/guidelines-policies/submission-guidelines/
and the copyright and reprint policy, here: http://omtimes.com/guidelines-policies/reprint-policy/
Hope that answers your questions, and we look forward to reading what you have to offer. ~ Blessings!
Thank you Kathy! I read both of those and was still very unclear on this which is why I posted. I am glad to know that I can take an article I've posted solely on my website and of course rearrange as for this audience's needs and submit that!
Have fun!
