To answer the question you asked, placing your article into the community makes it available for the editors and other writers to review and like. As I or the other editors select articles to forward to the publishers, we place notes in the comments to let you know it is being forwarded--or if there were questions or areas of the piece that might need to be amended.

Because of scheduling, we are not able to say exactly when to expect an article to be published, but once you receive word that your article is forwarded, you know to keep an eye on the magazine or website to see it there, usually in the next month or two, approximately. If that time elapses and you do not see it, you can ask about its status.
