Profile Information

Please provide a brief Author Bio ( 60 to 100 words maximum, please. )
Rev. Maria Dancing Heart Hoaglund is an author, transformational energy healer, and United Church of Christ minister with a universal perspective. She's also served as a hospice spiritual & bereavement counselor and published her first book for healing and prayer in 2005 after eleven years with hospice. (Four editions of "The Last Adventure of Life" are out now, internationally.) In 2010 Maria self-published her 2nd book, "The Most Important Day of Your Life: Are You Ready?"

Rev. Maria was born and raised in Japan, is thoroughly bilingual and bi-cultural, and is passionate about helping people release fears and doubts around death and all kinds of change. She is a bridge-builder: bringing East and West together, bridging this world with the next, and helping people understand the new spirituality and awareness as many of us move out of more traditional religious perspectives in our times.

Could the Whole World Be on Hospice?

Posted on February 13, 2016 at 11:30pm 0 Comments

We are at a very interesting time in human history at this time. Among the New Thought Movement, people call this the time of the Shift of the Ages. Many long-term time cycles – to the tune of 26,500+ years, are merging together and a great deal of love and light frequency is coming onto the planet. This is why the entire world – and what we have become used to - seems to be “going crazy” through this major Transition, especially when you pay attention to the…

How Shall We Grieve in Tumultuous Times?

Posted on January 1, 2016 at 11:30pm 0 Comments

We live in a culture where expressing grief is not honored in meaningful ways. We live in a society that’s awkward around the subject of death & dying, as well as grief. We have “bereavement leaves” in the workplace that last for three or four days. We use words like you need to “get over it,” and “keep busy,” and maintain a “stiff upper lip.” It’s almost as if we encourage each other to turn a blind eye and ear to our…

Bringing Death Back to Life in an Age of Consciousness Shift

Posted on December 7, 2015 at 4:00pm 2 Comments

During the last 100 years, says Rabbi Schachter-Shalomi, our culture has “pathologized” death by taking it into the hospital. We have done ourselves a real disservice by separating, or “compartmentalizing” death - and endings - away from life; and this has been taking its toll on our society. There is a tremendous focus on and bias toward youth and beauty, not to mention image; and we have become dishonoring of…

Why Do Americans Fear Death So Much?

Posted on December 5, 2015 at 5:30pm 0 Comments

So why is it that we Americans fear death so – especially in our modern world?

First of all, perhaps death is not what most of us have been told it is – something scary to hide and avoid? In my experience from doing hospice for years, my conclusion is that there's actually nothing to fear about death itself. In fact, understanding and learning about death can open up and enhance our lives…
