Profile Information

Please provide a brief Author Bio ( 60 to 100 words maximum, please. )
Creator of the Groups - Poets of the New OM, and Book Covers and Links.

I come to OM Times with many years of writing experience, including editing, proofreading, technical writing, and various types of graphic design. I graduated from a three-year college program in June of 2009, and am currently working in the field of technical writing and drafting.

My first love has always been written expression, and my spiritual path has taken me down many a poetic road. I enjoy both reading and writing poetry in all its many forms.

Thank you to everyone who drops by my page!

THE FINAL LESSON (My Most Favorite Poem)

I have sought beauty through the dust of strife,

I have sought meaning for the ancient ache,

And music in the grinding wheels of life;

Long have I sought, and little found as yet

Beyond this truth: that Love alone can make

Earth beautiful, and life without regret!

~ Arthur Stringer ~

Next time waves of sadness, or fear, or anger, or boredom, drop by for tea, drop the description "sadness" or "fear" or "anger" or "boredom", and directly feel the raw, unfiltered, mysterious and completely innocent bodily sensations, in the stomach, chest and neck. Meet the vibrantly alive, unnameable energy that is here, without judgement or resistance. And if judgement and resistance do appear, meet them without judgement or resistance too.  Notice that ALL is welcome in the vast open space that you are...

~ Jeff Foster ~

It is loving to others to love yourself and live your Spirit.  In fact it’s the most important decision you can make in your life.  To support this decision, see yourself accurately.  We are part of nature, as beautiful as all of God’s holy creations.  We are not flawed.  We are not defective.  We are not deviants.  We are Divine, holy expressions, beautiful and pleasing creations, and to love ourselves openly and without hesitation is to accept and trust God’s love for us.  If you practice these simple steps life will become very easy and peaceful, no matter what is going on around you.

~ Sonia Choquette ~

The simplest things are often the most true.
Richard Bach ~

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence; and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.

~ Helen Keller ~

Music is the silence between the notes.
~ Claude Debussy ~

Blood, sweat and tears aren't what it takes to create real change. Instead, it's your imagination, beliefs, and expectations that draw you into action, circumstances, and 'coincidences' that make dream manifestation inevitable. This isn't wishful thinking. It's the way things have always been in the jungles of time and space, the illusionary dimension that is both our laboratory and playground. Here our thoughts become things, our word is our wand, and we can learn of our divinity by witnessing the daily miracles we perform, effortlessly crafting spirit into circumstance as we perpetuate the material world we share.
~ Mike Dooley ~

... when you sense a faint potentiality for happiness after such dark times you must grab onto the ankles of that happiness and not let go until it drags you face-first out of the dirt - this is not selfishness, but obligation. You were given life; it is your duty (and also your entitlement as a human being) to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.
~ Elizabeth Gilbert ~

You were born together,
and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings
of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the
silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love.
Let it rather be a moving sea between
the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous,
but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone
though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together.
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress
grow not in each other's shadow..

~ Khalil Gibran ~

It was a great trip although I never did adjust to the time difference.  We saw the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort among other things and learned a lot about the Moghul Empire.  Have you ever been there?

Thanks for the welcome, Marina.  I did attempt to edit the tags, but see they do indeed have a mind of their own.
