Tess Pender is an Ordained Interfaith Minister. Her spiritual practice began when she attended Native American Sweat Lodges under the guidance of a Medicine Women, and continued with a series of Vision Quests. She led the Teen Spiritual Education Program for four years at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment in Santa Clara, Ca. She practices various Earth-Centered Spiritual systems, and co-founded two Wicca-inspired groups, one female and one co-ed.

In the Wicca (or Pagan) calendar, the year is divided by eight Sabbats, or holidays (Holy Days) marked by the earth’s journey around the sun. Summer solstice 2017 in the Northern Hemisphere will be at 9:24 PM on Tuesday, June 20 and marks the first day of summer.
