Rhythm. What a word! Close your eyes and spell it. Not that easy, is it? Rhythm is one of the deepest connections we have to everything. Truly, EVERYTHING. Space has a pulse. Energy moves through and around us in waves. If we find a way to make a pleasing, moving rhythm within the world, things just seem to fall into place and feel better. Continue
Most of the winning moves in video games I used to play with my kids were related to finding the correct rhythm within…

Relationship and Closure
A question that was recently posed to me was’ “What do you do with unresolved feelings from a relationship that is long gone and ended on a sour note?” And I thought, ‘Wow, great question!’
To answer I will begin by asking some questions of my own...if you had a stone in your shoe, would you continue to walk around with that stone creating a… Continue

Target: Future Secretary of Energy

Some states are working overtime to prevent climate change. But strong climate change prevention initiatives should not be limited to only seven out of fifty states. We must unite as one country to fight global warming.
Governors from California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Montana have joined forces with leaders of four Canadian provinces to reduce greenhouse gas emissions above and beyond… Continue

Stop the Construction of Dirty Coal Plants
Target: U.S. Congress
Sponsored by: Care2
Coal production is a leading cause of smog, acid rain, and harmful air toxics. Coal-fired power plants release over 40% of total U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, making them the biggest contributor to human-made causes of global warming.
Yet there are current plans for building nearly 100 new coal-fired power plants across America.
Fortunately, U.S. Representatives Henry… Continue

Help Stop Misleading "Clean Coal" Campaigns
Sponsored by: Care2
In reality, there is no such thing as "clean" coal in America today. Coal cannot be called 'clean' until its CO2 emissions are captured and stored safely.
Let's be clear: there are no U.S. homes, factories, shopping centers or churches powered by coal plants that capture and store their global warming pollution.
Today, coal power plants emit carbon dioxide (CO2), the pollutant causing the… Continue

For a number of years now, the UN has set 21 Sept as Peace Day. While we would like every day to be peace day, it is useful to have one common day during which many people and organizations reflect on a common theme. This 21 Sept the UN has set disarmament as the theme of the day. Also during Sept. the US President will chair a session of the UN Security Council devoted to disarmament which should attract some attention to the subject. Thus, I am sending my recent… Continue

Although we have never met, you have touched my heart and and in turn have assisted with another tossed stone resulting in a "ripple."

Moment by moment as we face the demons of our past we become stronger, healthier, and more present. We begin to play life differently by seeing our patterns, our hidden addictions, and the blocks that keep us from living fully. As we see these vices, we begin to choose whether we want to suffer any longer, or decide to co-create a fuller, richer, more centered existence with our higher power .
We are reborn moment by moment and choice by choice.… Continue

Almighty God,O God of mercy, bless all who live in the face of acts of terrorism. Grant them courage to go about their daily living. Give them hope that one day the hostility will cease. Guard the defenseless, especially the children and the elderly, the infirm and the weak. Bring peace to their homes and faith in their hearts.
We looked with horror on the terrorist attacks on 911
But we looked with honor on acts of courage by ordinary… Continue

A message to all members of Om-Times Magazine
It seems that we went back to the same situation yesterday, when some of us could not open our mailboxes here on the ning sites. I reported this issue to ning team yesterday and it seemed to be fixed. Apparently it was not. I will send again a note to the NING administrators, and report that those issues were not resolved.

Dear Ones: We are each connected by threads unseen, energies that travel and bind the universe. One of these threads is silver. The writing you read here is titled, "Silver Threads." Loneliness gets to some more than others. But why it hangs on isn’t always apparent when read by traditional medical eyes. In my medical practice and workshops I’ve been struck by how many sensitive, empathic people who I call “emotional empaths” come to me, lonely, wanting a romantic partner, yet remaining single for years. Or else they’re in relationships but feel constantly fatigued and overwhelmed. The reason isn’t simply that “there aren’t enough emotionally available people ‘out there,’”… Continue

Mindfulness meditation practice is a commitment that many resist, but it requires far less time and effort than most people realize. The time of day isn’t important; the regular practice is. Ideally, it should be practiced for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day in a quiet room with a closed door with no distractions. But it’s better to start doing 10 minutes once a day than aiming for the overall goal and then feeling overwhelmed by it and falling short. Use a timer to ensure that you meditate for as… Continue

Turning Your Problems Into Powerful Potential
"The things which hurt, instruct." ~ Benjamin Franklin
I have observed that very single human being has problems of one sort or another. There's no escaping that obvious fact. I think that what makes us different is how we respond to those problems.
My question for you would be: Do you see yourself as a victim, helpless and unable to help yourself? Do you grow angry, become impatient, or… Continue
