Living a healthier, more holistic lifestyle is a goal for most people. How to get started, however, is another issue. There are so many books, websites and programs all touting the ways to be healthier and happier. But really, wellness can begin by taking just a few small steps that will plant your feet on the path and impact your life in positive ways.
1. Take a multi vitamin everyday. Most of us do not get the recommended doses of viamins and minerals our bodies require from…

Have you ever suffered the emotional knifing of a relationship breakup? Why does it hurt so damn much? Why don’t we say “NEXT!” and smile joyfully as we trip down the road to the Plenty More Fish shop?
The sudden and aching void that forms when your honey, who you thought was your only soul mate, best friend, lover and life companion, gives you the news that “it’s over” can send you down a very dark road.
It can be a period of deep analysis tinged with daily oscillation from…

Sustainable Health Nutshell: Eat a simple easy-to-digest breakfast that's easy on your digestive system and the planet. Try stewed apples or well-cooked grains, and use sweet pungent spices like cardamom, clove, and cinnamon to help wake up your body!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day- but not for the reasons that probably come to mind first. It helps to think of our digestive system as a big kitchen- everything we eat has to be 'cooked' to be processed and used to…

In order to have complete health and wellbeing, all parts of existence must be addressed and attention given. More often than not, the emphasis has been placed on the physical aspects which are necessary as a means to work the muscle groups and all major organs. However, as a human our health is dependent on three separate but interconnected pieces – seen and unseen. The first is the most obvious…

OM Times Sept 2011 : Health & Wellness Editorial
Each month, as topics relating to our mental, physical or spiritual health are discussed, we are laying the foundation for a “RoadMAP” to healing that begins with(IN). I have been inspired lately as I continue to see and connect with those creating change as they “just do –what they do!” It reinforces what my belief that…

Of all the senses, the sense of smell is often the sense considered least important. Yet a scent has the power to set the mind reeling. Scent not only has the power to affect mood and invoke memories, a scent can shape your entire sense of well-being. Scent can even affect the way others respond to you.
Fragrances have been casting their spells for thousands of years. As early as 7000 BC, man used fragrant ointments from oils and plants. The Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Chinese all…

Belly breathing. Most adults do not realize that they spend the majority of their lives breathing incorrectly and this is the cause of many major health problems related to stress. It amazes people to find out that a simple thing such as breathing can truly affect their health in positive ways. But what is belly breathing and why is it important to practice during knitting? …

I was born in postwar England and it was a very difficult way to grow up after I hit the teen years. In the middle of great turmoil I found a Yoga book written by an East Indian yoga practitioner. It had photographs of him doing Yoga poses and explained how to do them, along with instructions on breathing and meditating.
No-one I knew was interested in it, so I…

Nearly ten days ago I discovered the Project Seventh website. The moment was monumental for me because I’d been trying to decide the best way to blog my day to day experiences as a professional clairvoyant/metaphysician and the creator of Cosmic Triage™. For years I’d written about my world in several blogging venues; then decided to give myself a chance with writing my blend of spiritual consciousness at…

Knitting Therapy -
Meet the Yarn Therapist
Everyone who knits or crochets has probably heard something about the therapeutic qualities needlecraft offers. However, no one ever really stops to explain exactly what these qualities are. After doing a bit of research I thought a blog post might help clarify the topic. It is being reported now that stress may be responsible for up to 90% of medical conditions. There…

I feel led to share an experience with you that I had this July. I had been in a circle of Deeksha, Oneness Blessing Givers. I wanted to see what their method was about. After a meditation within the circle of six people and the application of “blessings” on me by four of the “givers”, I didn't seem to feel much of anything different. Subsequently, things changed.
As you may already know Tucson is a community which is very serious about not using many night or street lights simply…

Have you heard someone say “be present”? What does it really mean in our day to day life, apart from meditation or being in nature, to be present (i.e. single minded focus)?
A check for being present is when we talk with our spouse, mate, friends, co-workers. Are we listening to what they say, or do we just nod our head (with a couple of uh uh/yes) when our mind is totally somewhere else, watching TV, reading papers or texting?
We build relationships with…

So much is written about the Law of Attraction yet it is hardly a law and it is certainly not just about attraction. When I learned of this 20 plus years ago it was one of many hermetic principles and it was not just that we attract (draw in) but also that we radiate (send out). Who you are is what and how you “vibrate” and that is largely about what you tune into and what you broadcast…. No it is not just staying artificially happy…. and superficially upbeat… that’s just plain silly. If…
