A Denial of Wisdom [Part Two of Two]

A Denial of Wisdom [Part Two of Two]

By Kathy Custren

In Part One, we reviewed that knowledge and wisdom are directly tied to our more spiritual pursuits, and that we have challenges in applying wisdom in our modern times. We also equated the possibility that our denial of nature and change equals a denial of wisdom.

Wisdom and the Abuse of Power

We can no longer dispute that we are in a major time of change, in line with a critical period in…

The 5 ways to heal faster from Lyme Disease

The 5 ways to heal faster from Lyme Disease

It's bad enough to be diagnosed with Lyme Disease, it's another thing to try heal from it. Lyme Disease is the fastest growing infectious disease in North America and many people are being misdiagnosed or going undiagnosed since many MD's do not know how to properly test or treat Lyme.

When Lyme goes untreated, it becomes chronic and once it becomes chronic, it's extremely difficult to treat and recover from. Lyme sufferers…

Managing Extra Home Appliances with Rental Storage

With the introduction of many new appliances every now and then, life has become easier and more advanced. You tend to prefer such things which allow dividing your works and are easier to operate as well.

But what it creates is the problems of space and storage in house, especially to the busy areas like Singapore where you don’t have the luxury…

Rose Quartz: Spread That Stuff Everywhere!

Rose quartz is, by far, my most recommended rock for anyone for anything at any time.  Why?  Because rose quartz holds the vibration of love (all forms!) and  love does everything.  Think about it.  Love heals, protects, strengthens, nurtures, expands, grounds, cleanses, and endures.   So, it’s as useful in the bedroom as it is in the…

Beyond Human Aura Energy Field or Human Heart vs. Human Brain

All humans have a brain, many people know how to use it and only few know how to use it effectively without going over the limits of harmony created by Nature.

We also have our heart and even though it may seem that it is an organ that is much easier to use, human feelings and emotions have to go through a challenging refinement…

"Negative Emotions"

What is the biggest issue about our “negative” emotions? Why do we call them negative? It is about what we believe about those emotions. Do you ever get angry and wished you did not get angry?

Our biggest issue with our emotions, anger being the most common feeling, is that we judge and try to get rid of them without first feeling and acknowledging them. For example, the reason we call anger negative, is in reality about our reaction rather than the feeling. How can a real emotion be…

Multiplicity-Making Peace with Myself

Layering is a way of hiding ones self. Of tucking the self of the self deep down in the soil of ones own body and mind. Where no one will find her not even herself. Its where the bear hibernates in its slumber while nature dies down and the cold sweeps itself upon the land. And in the quiet sleeping love lays waiting for the day the parent self will remember the root and the branch of her life. But how can one remember that which is so repulsive. How does one awaken to the…

Your Relationship Clock – What Time Is It?

I like to explain to clients, where their relationship is, using an analogy to a clock. If I can pick up the symbols Spirit is showing me, and describe them to clients, it’s much more effective than mere words. Spirit has been showing me time on the clock relative to couples and it explains things easily.

Each person in a specific relationship will have their own time on a clock, in that relationship. Because we are all so familiar with time and the face of a clock, this works…

Surrender to Darkness, Find Your Light

In times of incredible sadness we need to remember that although it seems impossible to fathom, nothing is random, nothing is coincidental....there is a Divine Universal plan for all living creatures. Pain is part of that plan. How we get through that pain, whether emotional or physical or both (as one usually precipitates the other) depends upon our perspective, the path we choose. Most of us choose the path of Light, but in doing so, we must not disregard, disrespect, or fear the darkness.…

Bring your Mind to the Yoga Mat

You will often hear Yoga teachers saying that the body, breath and mind is the important combination for wholesome practise and it’s true for me too. I believe your breath is the energetic bridge that develops a relationship between your mind and your body and opens a strong life long dialogue that encourages happiness and true health.

But of the triangle of 3, the mind is the trickiest thing to stay with you on the mat during your practise. It is often embedded in your thoughts…

Yoga the Ultimate Stretch

I have done a whole heap of exercise in my life time. I started with team sports at school (loathed it!) then into my 20s and 30s I was a gym bunny on and off and latterly it’s just Yoga, Yoga and more Yoga.

An intrinsic  part of exercise is stretching muscles effectively so you can keep your muscles long lean and knot free.

The mechanics of effective stretching for me is focused on the ligaments and tendons that join muscles to bones. I am not going to blind you with…

Yoga and your joints

I am fierce advocate for doing Yoga with healthy joint alignment because I am a firm believer that Yoga can and will over stress your body if you don’t learn to understand how it works and do postures that feel right to you. And as Yoga is something you can do right up to when you pass into the next world, it’s worth being mindful of how you practice from day 1!

Our bodies are designed (well that is until we evolve further!) to move in certain directions and within a range…

Reasons to do Yoga - part 3 - Live in Balance

I love the word balance. It seems after this many years on the planet that true happiness really does lie in a balanced life. In balance we can see and run our lives with ease and from that, comes abundant happiness.

Many people have said to me “it’s all about balance” when discussing food, exercise, relationships or whatever.

Balance is the common thread underpinning our lives.

Yoga will bring balance into your life. When I hit my mat, especially if my day is…

Reasons to do Yoga - part 2 - True Integrated Exercise

I totally believe, after 20 years of practicing, that Yoga gives you mental and emotional strength first which then translates into a healthy strong body and not the other way round. An unhealthy mind leads to an unhealthy body eventually. It’s that simple.

Many people focus on the aesthetic qualities of their bodies but their minds are left unobserved and very distracted. I was one of those people until I discovered Yoga.

The last time I went to the gym was only last…

Reasons to do Yoga - part 1 - The Best Relationship of your Life

Yoga is becoming more and more main stream these days (music to my ears!) and even the medical profession are recommending Yoga to their patients beyond conventional treatments to rehabilitate and restore. But why take it up in the first place? In this 3 part blog I will give you my perspective on it all and why you may want to give it a go.

I stumbled across my first yoga class in 1994 when my marriage collapsed. I had gone for reasons of finding some inner peace through the…
