As the holidays approach I am convinced of one thing. I am a daddy’s girl and I am unashamed to admit it. My earliest memories consist of him coming in to tuck me in at night. His final words to me were always “You’re a sweet girl”, to which I always replied, “You are a good daddy.” I always drifted off to sleep knowing that I was cherished by a man who would give his life to know that I was safe and loved.
My school had a father/daughter dance when I…

Many times we think that failing is a fault, that it makes us bad in some way, thus we feel ashamed to fail. Many people will not go out on a limb and try with all their might to accomplish all that the Tao, the Universe, and the Great Light of the Cosmos has in store for them.
And others know their power, but still hold back…

A Course in Miracles is a program that changed my life and all of my relationships. It was the first time that I felt as though I understood Jesus Christ and God, and my entire world began to make sense. It is a book channeled by two Professors of Medical Psychology in the late 1970s. The main teaching of the Course is:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.…

Putting a baby or a toddler to sleep for the night can be a challenging task. As babies, they may confuse night and day and sleep at the oddest hours. As toddlers, their own volition is blossoming, often not leaving much room for yours. Yet, as conscious parents, it is our responsibility to accompany our child to the oneiric realm with the utmost gentleness and care. It is more than just mere sleep, it is a soul voyage. This article takes for granted that you are a conscious parent,…

Looking out into space we find very little sound, only peace, stillness, and ever-present connection of contemplative receptivity. This receptivity opens the mind, giving the most powerful energy in the Universe a space in which to grow... THE POWER OF LOVE.
That energy has no allegiance to creed, color, birth right, or rank…

In any one lifetime, we encounter a number of experiences where we are tested and strained to survive some manner of extreme energy. Most recently, the deluge delivered to the east coast of the United States with Hurricane Sandy is our current reality in dealing with forces we might consider more than we can handle. While there is…

Today is the day that we have a Full Moon in Taurus. The full moon tends to have a funny affect on us, particularly water signs. It's almost as if it amplifies whatever emotion that we are going through. So if you were feeling good in the run up to a full moon then you end up feeling amazing but if you have been feeling a little low then you can expect to fall even lower. With this in mind it seems no surprise that, statistically more babies are said to be conceived around the time of…

The good news and the bad news are exactly the same: if it's happening in your life it's about you. Sorry. I know that is real crap sometimes, but painfully true.
This Full Moon in Taurus (which I am already feeling to the nth) with the Sun in Scorpio conjunct Saturn means nothing but fun there as you sort through buried feelings, emotions, thought forms, patterned behaviors and responses- all rising to the surface of your awareness to sort through and decide which will remain and which…

You are constantly defining and re-evaluating who you really are. You may have followed all the rules to success, got an education, got a job, got married and had children and still feel the emptiness within yourself.
You may feel that you are more than what you portray yourself as to the outside world. You may be frustrated at yourself for compromising your soul’s desires to just get along with people, be silent, and “not rock the boat”.
It is important to connect and listen…

Some of us have poor boundaries. Let’s admit it. When we were growing up we were shamed or ridiculed or bullied for asking for our needs to be met. We might have been made to feel “less than” when we stated what we wanted. This left us with a sense that we are not worthy to protect ourselves, that we are selfish or ridiculous to ask others not to trample us with their words or actions.…

This past week I met a woman who was a clinical psychologist. She said she came to spirituality after she had lost her son and was seeking a way to deal with her grief. She went on to tell me that she tried psychotherapy but it didn't help so she turned to the traditional roots of her family's religion, but again, that didn't give her what she needed. She said she needed something more, and she then started looking at some Eastern practices, like Yoga, Buddhism and Qi Gong.
I…
