My mind wanders to Robin Williams and the struggle of so many others. Let's hope there's enough hugs to go round.

Forget your Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawkins and the ‘when you’re dead, you’re dead’ theory and you can put aside most religious ideas as well, as I had a tiny insight into what may happen once I die and it’s changed the way I view life.
I spent four years subjecting myself to different experiences to see what kind of insights I could get and while I didn’t have a Near Death Experience, I did have some moments where I had to seriously question everything we’ve been taught. And I…Continue

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, and considering most people wouldn’t even consider the idea of past lives being a sensible part of any intelligent conversation, but for me, the idea that we may have lived before in another time and place seems an interesting topic well worth exploring.

At the moment, my stove top coffee pot is my greatest spiritual teacher. Many of you might say “yeah, coffee get’s me all buzzing and high too”, but it’s not what’s in the coffee pot that contains the lesson it’s what I do with the pot itself.
I’ve been noticing that when I wash the dishes, I always wash the pot last as I don’t want to get the dishwater full of coffee grinds, but there’s a small dilemma I face each time. Seeing as I do all the other dishes first (and my partner might…Continue

The concept of Mindfulness sounds so nice and delicious, being in a state of calmness and awareness while the chaos of the world crashes around you. Being in a full state of saying ‘yes’ to whatever is happening, where you can be open and accept the activities of the present moment with a grace of a swan – Yes that’s for me.
Unfortunately wanting to achieve such a state is the great paradox of practising mindfulness, you don’t need to do anything except notice, watch and let go. When…Continue
When I was in my early 20’s trying to find my way in the world, I told the wife of my boss at the time that I wanted to be successful in some way and she tossed her head back laughed and said I’ll never amount to anything so there’s no point trying.
It felt like she had punched me in the stomach and it hurt deeply, but strangely enough I didn’t hate her, I only felt pity. Of course there was a bit of the ‘let me show you lady’ and that gave me the motivation when I needed to achieve…Continue

Speed never gets you anywhere. So slow down, (physically and mentally) and enjoy the fabulousness of the present moment.
We can easily get bogged down in the mundaneness of life, caught up in the daily grind of just living and surviving yet at the same time most of us are also searching for something bigger, some deeper meaning to all.
So while we go about our daily lives of going to work, looking after the family and watching TV, there are some pretty incredible things we can personally do to unlock a hidden world inside of ourselves which can make any Hollywood blockbuster look like a kindergarten…Continue
It’s time to be brave. It’s time to stop looking ‘out there’ for happiness and start to look inside yourself as that’s where you’ll discover the potential for real peace of mind lies.
It’s about finding happiness in the unconventional, in the bits that we don’t like about ourselves, in the places that scare us and in the realisation that we are ultimately responsible for our own happiness, not anyone or anything else.
And the best discovery is that everything you don’t like,…Continue
