Typically, we're accustomed to thinking of the word "forecast" in relation to the weather. Let's say that a huge storm-front is approaching and the forecast tells us when to expect this change along with providing specific details such as the temperature shifts, the level of precipitation, humidity, snow, rain, hail, etc. It might also tell us when to expect the front to pass through. Often we use this information as means to assist us in preparing for these changes.
