Can Your Voice Defy Gravity? by Kara Johnstad

Can Voice Defy Gravity? Have you ever watched yourself be pulled down by heavy emotions? Your voice is stuck in your throat and your heart is heavy. Drowning in a swamp of crocodile tears, your intuition tells you to find your favorite song and play it. Fast. You do and something shifts. You hum to the tune. The weight begins to shift. You are breathing deeper and smiling. “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” ― Plato Your spirits high you go to work. You begin a beautiful day and are faced only with problems to solve. You feel your energy level drop. The mundane is gnawing at you and sucking you under. It is 3 p.m. Tight, exhausted and in need a long nap you want to cave inwards and crash. You are in serious need of some happy chemicals. You take an espresso but it doesn’t do the trick. There is no sofa in sight. Thank goodness there is music. You put on some good tunes and start to sing. Within a few minutes you are back in the game. Batteries recharged. Uplifted. Feet lighter. What is actually happening when we sing? Why do we always feel lighter afterwards? There is something intangible in the air that you can't see, touch, taste or smell called gravity. The word gravity stems from the Latin word gravitatem, meaning weight, heaviness, pressure. And in science the phenomenon of weight and downward acceleration has two components - the gravitational and the centrifugal force. Voice also works with pressure and two components, the gravitational and the centrifugal forces. It also works with the anti-gravitational and anti-centrifugal force. The voice is a bi-directional instrument giving you sound mind and sound body. The gift we have been given is that when we sing the heaviness always disappears. We feel lighter and lifted after a singing session: Music gives us wings and we are able to rise. What is the force that that lies within sound that we as a humanity have yet to consciously explore? Voice uses gravity and centrifugal force. It is gravity that allows air to drop effortlessly into our body and nourish us. We do not need to grab air or put it in manually. Our first breath is taken, by opening to this weight we are asked to carry. The force brings oxygen into our lungs and keeps our feet anchored on solid ground. Gravity is a gift and a burden. It can also cause our spine to compress. our organs to prolapse, it can prevent blood in our bodies from flowing upwards, slowing down our circulation. Yet can it also defy gravity? Can it work like a worm hole and use anti-centrifugal force? Life always offers us two sides to any force. And the voice works with both. Gravity allows air to enter our body with ease. It also allows thoughts to enter with ease. This is why we say we are inspired. Thoughts enter on the inhalation. So, which force is working on the exhalation? How is it possible for tone to rise out of our body? Every thought about it? How does tone rise up and out of our body when it could fall into a downward motion? How are particles and matter moved through sound. What part does sound play in dealing with the weight and graveness of it all? We have a powerful tool within our brilliant bodies that few have explored to its full heights and depths. As children, we "escape from gravity" by riding the swings. We also love jumping for hours, Give us a trampoline and we are addicted to the feeling of lift off. The up and down movement. And we intuitively whirl. We find a pole and we are circling around the pole and literally unwinding and winding. And yes, kids sing and make sounds for hours. Always connected to movement. Energy is generated through voice. Amazingly enough, hidden within our throat are exactly these three movements. In the larynx there is a swing, it can tilt and lift and drop downwards and forward, exactly like a swing. . You have a trampoline; the folds can close into an area that can bounce up and down gently opening the vertical axis and you have a spiraling force which is in alignment with the rotation of the universe. The singing voice is magic. It uses gravity and it defies gravity. It also uses a centripetal inward force that moves toward the center of the circular path only to move back into space in a centrifugal motion. Each and every tone built has a center. A core. A beginning with no end. Ever thought about that? A tone - at one. A beginning with no end. Where does sound go to after it has left our body? Where does bird song land? What happens to a lion’s roar? And why do we feel so light after we sing? Can we use sound to not only defy gravity but to raise the frequency and vibrational resonance of our planet so that immediate healing can occur? Is voice that powerful? Voice anchors you to the ground and it lets you know first hand the sensation of flight. Albert Einstein said gravity is a result of the curvature of space-time. These two theories are the most common and widely held explanations of gravity. The studies continue and I personally believe that the sound and voice play a role that the quantum physicists have neglected. When you sing you feel lighter afterwards. Always. When you are are sad or angry or riddled with fear or doubt, the voice offers itself to you and moves you away from the grave into liveliness and lightness. When you sing you feel lighter afterwards. Always. When you are are sad or angry or riddled with fear or doubt, the voice offers itself to you and moves you away from the grave into liveliness and lightness. Can the voice be used to defy gravity and generate more light for our world? What if we all started humming and whistling again through our days. How would that change your chemistry? Your breathing? Your health? Our world? Food for thought. Our current perception is that flight requires lift via manipulation of airflow. Yet aerodynamically the bumble bee shouldn’t bee able to fly. Bee is essential for life. So how is it possible that a bumble can fly if the primary source of lift is not his wings? Could it be that it is the HUMMM, his sound, that gives him the lift needed? Does the bee use harmonics or something called vibrational sympathy which alters the state of its body through buzzing and allows it to resonate with its surroundings allowing it to float? Could it be that we too, have an innate ability built in to lift particles and matter through humming and the use of vibrational sound? A bee is cross pollinating our plants and giving us food, we as a humanity are cross pollinating and giving each other food for thought through our voice. What if voice and sound are balancing the gravitational force by shifting frequency and using electromagnetism to shift the air molecules around us? An aerodynamic lift. Remember the phrase, music makes me fly? My theory is, the voice, a bi-directional instrument, uses both force fields, the gravitational and the anti-gravitational and through centripetal force It can attract and repel. You can chase away the blues through singing. Music gives you the euphoric high and same flight you loved as a kid. The swinging, the bouncing, the whirling. In these evolutionary times, it can be that we have the soul-ution to our problems hidden within our throat. A small device that can shift the heavy harshness of our world and through uplifting melody and set a new tone for our future. Try it. Experience how singing let’s you defy gravity any time you wish. I delight in the fact that even wormholes are tunnel like and have a throat. We are a mystery. Here’s to the explorers.

Hi Kara, Thanks for the reply =)

I'm sure you'll be able to do it well, just takes a bit of practice. I also write in 1st person on my blog, and eventually you get the hang of it.

Reiki hugs,

Regina

OK Will do. I am very used to writing in the I AM place and still need to re-write articles to fit the OMTimes format. Working on it and excited to see if I am able to. Thank you for your insights. Kara

Hello Kara!

Thank you for posting this article. My name is Regina, I'm one of the editors here at OM Times Magazine. As it stands, this piece doesn't quite fit our guidelines. You'll find a list below, the items in bold stood out when I skimmed through. Please let me know if you have any questions:

- Content: Original, in other words, it hasn't been posted in other magazines or in blogs. We do not publish channeled materials, our writers present their own ideas! Please begin with a 80 word ABSTRACT that summarizes the themes covered (a teaser of sorts).

- Tone of Voice: Professional tone of voice, using "we" rather than "I" to make the articles inclusive, and to avoid sounding like a blog post. Please avoid 2nd person as well, to keep from sounding preachy (as in, "you might be doing this wrong...)

- Self-Promotion: Include an Author Bio with links to your profile and any promotional material (up to 60 words). Self-promotion is only permitted here - if links are embedded or included in the body of the article, they will be deleted.

- Title: Reflective of the general theme (up to 60 characters)

- Length: 500 - 800 words.

One more thing - you may have noticed that the article published as one long paragraph (this appears to be a common problem on the site lately). Would you be able to add them again?

Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to resubmit.

Thank you!

Regina
