Weight Loss is a life changing event that we choose to partake. The ancient healing practice of Reiki adds our transformation through balancing our energy and relaxation. Both of these ingredients are essential for self-care, and success at attaining goals.
Reiki is a powerful tool in many aspects of life. It is a great supplemental practice to use during weight loss, and helps with the self-healing portion of the process. There are many changes that happen within the body, emotional body, mental body, and spiritual body during a weight loss program.
The physical body goes through physical transformation, which changes how we look to the people around us. We look into the mirror, and may not recognize the reflection staring back at us. The physical body changes in shape and size. With exercise, the body tones up, the internal organs function better, and our endurance increases.
It is easy to see these changes in others, yet we may not recognize it in ourselves.
The mental body changes due to the changes in our reflection, and the reaction of other people. It can be difficult to change the notion of clothing size, or body proportions. The mind needs time to adapt to the physical changes, and it can bring up memories. These memories may sabotage the progress towards a healthier and leaner self.
The emotional body is tied with both the mental and physical bodies. It is hard not to feel emotions associated with the physical changes or memories that surface during the process of weight loss. Emotions triggered by physical changes can be very intense. It may bring back emotional trauma or deep heart-felt pain. Beyond writing journal entries, the meditative quality of Reiki helps bring these feelings into perspective. Always keep in mind, it is wise to know when to seek a councilor to help in the process.
The spiritual body reacts to the emotions, thoughts, and changes of the person. It is the energy that makes us who we are. It also changes as we change our physical, mental, and emotional circumstances. Reiki raises our spiritual energy, and brings us to a higher energetic level. The higher the energy we run, the better we physically feel. The spiritual body is affected by excessive weight and/or loss, due to its connection to the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
All these bodies benefit from Reiki. This energy work eases the mind, body, emotion, and spirit bodies through the balancing of energy within each.
First, Reiki brings us a few moments of quieting the mind, and focusing on balancing our energy. A Reiki session with a practitioner gives time to relax and just "be" for the duration of the session. A Reiki practitioner allows the Universal Life Force energy to flow through them into the client. This is an amazing experience to help balance the energy, while transforming one's self through weigh loss and self care.
For those who practice Reiki, it is the time to quiet the self, and focus on healing. It give our body a break from all the changes. The balancing of our energy allows it to flow more smoothly through our bodies, while we transform our health and wellness. The more fit we are physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, the better we feel, and process the world around us.
Second, Reiki is a form of self care. Self care leads to greater weight loss, and an easier time adjusting to the new body changes. Reiki helps the muscles to relax and reduce tension. Being calmer allows the mind, body, emotions, and spirit adapt to change quicker.
Third, Reiki tends to raise an individual's energy level. Feeling more energetic makes it easier to exercise, work through the day, and focus less on eating. It brings the focus away from the physical, and brings it to a higher plane of thinking. By feeling better, we are less likely to over-eat, make wiser choices for our health and well-being, and participate in life.
