How Can Self-Realization Help Children in Today’s World?

Perfectionism is an unreasonable goal, as it requires making absolutely no mistakes and doing everything right. Doing things right is so subjective, and you’ll go crazy trying to please everyone. A much more valuable alternative is self-realization, where you are made to understand your potential based on your own background and abilities. This is how self-realization can help children in today’s world.

Boost Self-Esteem

Children can become easily frustrated, thinking that because they’re not good at one thing, they’re not good at anything. Self-realization lets children realize that being good to themselves is more important than being great at everything. Some companies, like infinitetherapysolutions.org, know that you don’t need to be perfect to have self-worth. Self-realization means letting go of ridiculous societal expectations and doing the best according to one’s own capabilities. A child who is taught self-realization can have an epiphany. After years of comparing themselves to others, they can realize that such concerns are unnecessary.

Stay Focused

Thinking about the future is overwhelming. A child might be able to stay in the present, but the uncertainty of the future can certainly get to them. With self-realization, they can focus on their strengths and how they’ll benefit from them as they grow. You can find a career that helps children realize their potential. Children’s occupational therapy in Bayonne, NJ, allows for an environment where therapists can work alongside their patients. Many different children from different backgrounds are guided through challenges to help raise their self-esteem.

Inspire Others

Children can be role models for other children and even adults. The most admirable people aren’t the ones who don’t make mistakes (those people don’t exist). Instead, it’s the ones who are willing to give everything a fair shot. When a child understands self-realization, they can use their learnings to lift others up along the way. They can be role models without realizing it.

Emotional Maturity

There is perhaps no better quality than emotional maturity. It requires letting go of ego and admitting to mistakes. This doesn’t come easily to anyone, especially not children. Through self-realization, they can better understand their emotions and help prevent negative feelings from getting the best of them.

Children need guidance, but they also need to be able to fend and think for themselves. Knowing about self-realization is a start. To be effective, children need to understand how they can use their best qualities to become their best self. Use this as a guide to bring out the best in your children and others.

Hi Rachelle.  It is refreshing to see a post about children.  Great job!  I would like to consider it for publishing to the magazine, however, there are a couple of things that need to be changed first.

It is the magazine's policy to publish articles written in the second and/or third person.  Also, we would need it to be at least 600 words.  (We publish between 600 and 1000 words traditionally).  This piece is currently 417.

If you can add a short abstract with a word count at the beginning as well as a link to any pages or websites that are yours, it would be appreciated.

Great work!
