6 Easy Things to Do on Sunday That Will Improve Your Week

“We all wish there was another day that we could cram into that space between Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a glorious day for many, a day when we can have lunch with friends or spend quality time with family, go out and have a great night out. Sunday, however, is that last resort – the last day before we have to go back to doing our usual – work, more work, chores, and even though the entire work week is pretty much the same, there is something mysterious that makes us dread Monday. We know it, the countless internet memes know it, so what are we going to do about it? Instead of watching the clock and seeing your beloved Sunday tick away faster than you want it to, it’s time you get up and make the most of your Sunday and do all the things that will ease you into the following weak and make you feel invigorated and prepared.

Love, actually

Sure, you can watch a romantic comedy if that’s a ritual of yours, but what we had in mind is something even more productive. Whether or not you’re a bookworm is irrelevant, because today isn’t about fiction and finishing a book that’s been waiting for you on the bedside table. No, Sunday is the perfect day to empower yourself, learn the true meaning of self-love and one of the currently best books out there – Love Yourself: A Journey of Self-Care, Self-Acceptance, and Total Self-Love. We all feel less than perfect, more than stressed out, constantly overwhelmed by both life and our personal insecurities. This book is guaranteed to bring you back the faith in you, and teach you how to, as Katy Perry would say, love unconditionally. Once you’re done with this Sunday read, you’ll already begin feeling like a brand new woman who deserves it all – love, acceptance, and care, and you will have the know-how on how to put these words into practice.

Pampering time

First of all, there is no day more perfectly designed for pampering than Sunday. Now that it has sunk in that you deserve it all – go big – turn your home into a spa for a day, create the perfect bubble bath, light some candles, put a deep treatment hair conditioner on and once you’re ready to step out of the tub, cozy up in a robe and finish of strong by indulging in a luxurious smooth skin ritual. Open up those pores, cleanse thoroughly, and then protect with a powerful serum and nourish and moisturize generously. Your skin will thank you, and more importantly, an extensive facial ritual will give you this confidence that with a face that radiant, you can handle anything the upcoming week throws at you.

Mental preparation

The best way to beat work-week jitters is to lean into them. You probably have a calendar in your planer with all the upcoming meetings, trips, errands, conference calls. This can all be quite overwhelming, so start small – look at your Monday schedule. Is there anything you need to adjust, remove or add? Is the Monday page in your planer empty because you haven’t noted down all that awaits. If that’s the case, sit and write down all the things that you have to do come Monday morning. This is one of the most unproductive days of the week, but if you face it head on and know what needs to be ticked off that Monday list, not only will you feel more in control, but you might actually end up feeling more motivated to check all of your errands off the list and have the most productive day yet. In addition, you can take a page from hard working people of Hong Kong, and as they find time for yoga in Hong Kong, so can you nera your home. That way you can center yourself and increase your mental strength so that you can take on Monday like a pro.

In the spirit of wellness and health

You probably want to lead the healthiest lifestyle possible, and often, during the work week that can be close to impossible because the lunch time offer leaves something to be desired. Plus, once you come home, are you really in the mood to cook after the long day you’ve head? This is why doing a little meal prep on Sunday evenings is one of the best things that your next week’s self will be immensely grateful for. You can prepare a few easy meals for work as well as a few simple and delicious ones that you can freeze and just heat up once you’re back home. This will save you a whole lot of time during a busy week, not to mention that you’ll be glad you took the time to do this all at once and saved yourself the energy.

Always be prepared

It may sound silly, but once that alarm goes off, it’s like you’ve never worn clothes before – you’re groggy and sleepy and you end up putting on the first things you can grab for your closet. Now, let’s not even get into how important visual presentation is in the workplace, let’s just focus on you. When you’re well put-together, you instantly feel more confident, capable, in charge. This is why it’s paramount to use some of that pre-bed time to think about your Monday outfit – so you feel good during that Monday and own the room.

The fountain of youth

You have a big long week ahead of you, and you most definitely need your beauty sleep – even doctors refer to it as such, because sleep literally helps reboot our body and rejuvenate our skin. So, in order to look fresh and well-rested, you actually need to be well-rested. Make it your mission to get your well-deserved eight hours of quality snooze time, and come Monday morning you won’t just look fresh and awake, you will be full of energy that will last you the entire week.

Conquering the work week isn’t easy, but with a trick or two up your sleeve, you can most certainly own it, so let’s do this!

I really like what you have done here.  Focusing on a specific time of everyone's week.  May I suggest the following so that I can send it to the publisher for the magazine?

Articles are written in 3rd person

Must be beween 600 and 100 words

At the top add an abstract with word count

At the bottom add your bio and if you have a link you can add that too.

Job well done!
