An Officer and a Gentleman and the Gifts of a Spirit Medium
The audience was standing room only at the breathtakingly beautiful and historic Stage Neck Inn overlooking York Harbor in Maine. An extraordinary experience began during the evening, when impressions of an audience member's grandfather came through in vivid detail to Spirit Medium Sunnie Brooks: "Battleship!"
The spirit's granddaughter Megan knew immediately that it was her grandfather, Herb, who had served on a Navy submarine. “Tommy Dorsey” was relayed next, along with distinct sounds of Big Band music, which were recognized as being popular during World War II. Megan confirmed this as accurate. Herb or “Grandpa” as he was called by Megan, presented himself as an image described as handsome, in his prime, with prominent eyes. He wore a highly decorated cap, indicating a high-ranking naval officer. Megan confirmed that he had achieved the rank of Rear Admiral
His personality came through as very tough but fair, his mind sharp and highly knowledgeable about all facets of maritime management. He also expressed remorse over sending so many men to their deaths during war time. Megan was also able to confirm the Japan connection that Sunnie mentioned, that he had indeed been positioned in that area and in the South Pacific. The repeated image of sinking battleships was accompanied by a feeling of remorse that Megan mentioned.
Next, two boys and the message that Megan had been, in his words, “a bit soft on them” was confirmed by a smile and a nod by both Megan and her husband. Grandpa expressed that he wished he had lived longer so that he could have had more influence on her two sons. He advised her to stay firm in her points of view with them and commended her for being a very good mother.
Herb was also eager to talk about his beloved wife. As a framed picture he kept in his office and feelings of deep admiration, love and pride he had for his wife were described, Megan teared up and said yes, they were soul mates.
At the end of the evening, Megan and her husband Mark approached Sunnie in the crowd with an invitation to visit Grandpa's summer house which was just up the road from the inn. The next day, she met them at the house. Megan introduced Sunnie to the large portrait of the Admiral hanging in the dining room. His prominent eyes seemed to stare directly at her. It was truly rewarding and a bit startling to see the person she had communicated with from the spirit world looking directly at her from the painting. It is an experience that none of them will ever forget. As she expressed her gratitude to Megan and her husband...and Grandpa for their hospitality, the name Frank kept coming into Sunnie's head, repeatedly. Megan and Mark did not know anyone named Frank.
Megan checked with her brother afterward, then sent a text that Frank was the name of the neighbor whom Grandpa was helping when he fell off his ladder which led to his passing. Frank wanted Megan and her family to know that he felt responsible and to express his deepest regret to provide closure.
Sometimes healing comes in unexpected ways and a spirit communication session (reading) serves not only the living but the departed as well, and proves that we are indeed eternal spirits.
