Avoid falls and Adapter housing
Falls are a leading cause of accidental deaths among the elderly.
Each year, more than 2 million people over the age of 65 years (one in three) fall.
And a fall in two takes place at home.
Insufficient lighting, slippery floors, furniture too high ... the home often harbors numerous pitfalls that can lead to the fall. But this is an important factor in loss of independence.
Indeed, the elderly will be more likely to break, will be more difficult to rehabilitate, but more importantly, can undergo a major psychological shock.
Thus, many older people experience some anxiety towards the fall, even when they are not fallen, and can then reduce the activities of daily living.
It is inspensable initially to check a few key points, and possibly to assess the housing by specialists.
