We know all is illusion, that everything is all about frequencies and vibrations and we should learn, stretch and grow but how grown up are we really? How grown up should we strive to be? Are there grownups at all or do we just see ourselves that way? Our bodies may grown on the outside but how much growing has happened on the inside? How much is growth and how much is just entropy? Have we truly let go of our childhood fears, perceptions and reactions? Have we really become enlightened or is all of this just more illusion?
When we were children, without the concerns of adulthood, we found pleasure in small things. Things such as the taste of ice cream on a hot summer say, the feel of the grass under bare feet, butterflies, wind and rainbows. These pleasures were fleeting but consistent, one followed closely upon the other and we never worried about when they would appear or where they would come from. We knew in our heart of hearts that a new pleasure would be along any minute. As grownups, we forget how to look for and expect to find, enjoy and embrace these small pleasures. We look only for the next crisis, the next thing to worry about the next lesson to teach some one else. Is this what being an adult is all about? I think not, I think we have just fallen into the illusion of what we think being a grown up is.
It is OK to let that go. I don't advocate being irresponsible and child-ISH, I am referring to the ability to embrace child-LIKE enjoyment of pleasures, to seek them out, recognize them when we see them, and relish them. Not just while on vacation but all the time. Look through the illusion of being mature and grown up, being enlightened or studious. Find your pleasure, your joy, your bliss. We hear a lot about letting go of things that no longer serve you or fit into your life so the challenge here is to realize the good in being in a state of appreciation and bliss. Just because the feelings of joy once came to you as a child, does not mean that those feelings can not still serve you or be worthy of you as an adult. Find, see and become childlike in your wonder and joy and spread that pure love to every one you pass.
