Are you feeling stressed with all of the energy swirling in the world right now?  Are you looking for simple tools to connect with your heart that will anchor you in peace?  Do you experience a roller coast ride daily – traversing the highs and lows of emotions and feelings?

 

We are in the midst of a paradigm shift.  Right smack dabble in the middle of it.  There's no turning back.  Click on the news and watch the cascading images of world events - droughts, floods, hate crimes, major Supreme Court decisions, politicians parading ideology to be the next President, war, stock market cycles, the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday, celebrations along side with questionable circumstances and more. The energy seems to be swirling in all sorts of directions.


We are feeling it on all levels - body, mind and soul.  Whether you are tuned in or not, we're riding a mighty big wave of change - energy fluctuating in every single moment.  Our sweet little egos don’t know what to do.  The amygdala, the processing part of our brain that triggers reactive responses, is on high alert sounding off alarms at every little thing we see on the news or read on social media.

 

What do you DO in the midst of all of this while trying to pay your bills, tend to your family, nurture your well being, contemplate your future and fulfill your life's purpose?

 

Just Breathe.  Yes.  That simple.  When you breathe into your heart, you gain greater wisdom and clarity around life’s situations.

 

To pause into your breath is to take a moment to center into an Infinite Supply of Good.  Millions of molecules are available on your behalf.  The gracious trees exhale oxygen for our benefit and we dance with their emerald canopies with our return of carbon dioxide.  Yet, how many of us are shallow breathers - creating more anxiety just by the way we inhale and exhale? 


It made sound silly but it is true.  Deep Heart Breaths are healing.  HeartMath Institute has done extensive research on the energy field that our heart radiates and it’s ability to bring the amygdala into coherence for great insight, wisdom and clarity.  By breathing deeply into our heart, we tune to a more powerful force, according to HeartMath Founder, Doc Children “that can lead humans away from destructive cycles of stress and discord toward a future of lasting peace and harmony.”*

 

Here is a three step process when you are feeling overwhelmed because you need balance and peace.  Give it a try.


Stop. Drop. Breathe.

 

Stop - Pause into the thoughts - allow them to be present but not leading the way. Refrain from moving into that next "to do."  Don't hit send on that email laced with reaction.  Step away from the computer and your cell phone.  Turn off your TV. Just Pause for a few minutes.  Feel the energy. Bear witness to it instead of avoiding it.

 

Drop - Let everything go for the moment.  Drop into your heart. Focus on your heart.  Now breathe into your heart.  Bring into your awareness a moment of deep appreciation that makes you smile.  Something that you know your heart radiates Love every time you feel it in your heart.

 

Breathe - Now, imagine breathing into your heart, just remain there for a bit.  Deep, deep, deep breaths.  Just allow yourself to BE.  Breathing IN. Breathing OUT.  Repeat.

The Pause allows you to tune in and to respond and not react to a situation.  It's a self-regulating check in.  Is what is happening before me or am I just creating a scenario in my head?

 

Your breath brings you to present moment awareness.  "I AM HERE," says Mooji, spiritual teacher.  Be here now.

 

Just remember, our inner lives are reflected in our outer lives. Tune within and radiate Love to all the changes happening in the world.  Keep breathing and keep radiating Love. Be the Peace you wish to see in the world.
