"I am, indeed, a king, because I know how to rule myself." ~ Pietro Aretino
Sometimes we think that emotions just "happen" without us being part of the process. We know that emotions are powerful, and you can point them in the direction you chose.
* Negative emotions can be stopped by deciding firmly to stop them.
* Positive emotions can be fostered by recognizing your small successes.
* You are not helpless in the face of your emotions.
Take Action Now
I will look at the thoughts I was thinking right before my emotions flared. By changing my thoughts, I'll automatically govern my emotions. If I recognize that I have angry flare-ups, I'll resolve to find the deeper meaning behind them, or I'll find professional help to become more aware and change these outbursts. If I become fearful when I think of change, I'll work to discover the why of my fears and see how to bring up - perhaps, more courage.
