Life is a buffet of experiences with a myriad of choices and endless directions to go in. We all need to channel our inner “Indiana Jones” sometimes, especially when it comes to the unexpected events in our lives.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we could pick and choose all the many changes that come into our lives? No more being at the mercy of sudden unforeseen events but rather, changes we have given thought to and made an informed decision about.

We tend to be creatures of habit. We prefer our jobs to be secure, our relationships to last forever and that tomorrow will bring us more of today.  No surprises.

If you give a moment’s thought to your life, you will realize you have been in a constant flux of change. You are not the person you once were, nor are you finished with your evolution.  In order to grow and mature, you have to step outside of your comfort zone and venture into new territory.

The more you reflect upon your life, you also begin to realize that although you may have resisted change in your life, upon retrospect, it was necessary and ended up being positive in the long run.

Yet we fear change to the point that it can paralyze us in a state of inaction. We resist going into the unknown because it is uncomfortable not knowing exactly what the next day will bring. We live in our scheduled environments and struggle against any disruptions to our plan.

If you could simply trust that your soul had an agenda from the moment of your birth and that you actually did plan all the unexpected changes in your life, you could learn to embrace change.  The problem is you have forgotten the plan. You have also forgotten that you brought all the abilities you need to handle whatever adjustments that comes your way. Knowing these things eases the fear.

Life can be a roller coaster at times.  You can sweat bullets, hang on to the safety bar with an iron grip and scream or choose to throw your hands up and enjoy the ride. My advice, choose the later.
