The wild ride is hitting a peak at last. Discomfort may remain, but now the reason or point of it is beginning to make sense.
Tectonic shifts are locking into place. Upheaval and restructuring are settling into recognizable contours. Report cards are coming in on matters that have been calling for a reboot since the end of 2010.
Two monumental, long-fuse processes are culminating this week: the third of seven action-demanding clashes between cosmic change agents Uranus and Pluto, and the Sagittarius Full Moon, which is the third of this spring’s cluster of eclipses and the last in the Gemini/Sagittarius cycle.
Uranus and Pluto are fomenting radical change (heavy on brash individualism) and sending shockwaves through shaky structures and foundations. Their insistence on r/evolution has been hammering at specific areas of and issues in your life for the past year, so you should have more than an inkling of what’s in play.
This week the two titans lock into an exact square on Monday, which promises to release some of the relentless intensity we’ve been experiencing. (It’s not going away; we’re merely getting a moment of relief, not to far from what your head feels like when you stop slamming it against a wall). We’ve experienced the exact square twice before, in June and September of last year. (Four more are coming through March 2015.)
What story line(s) can you spin from June to September to now? The current round has three distinct qualities:
1. Metaphoric and actual construction projects and road work (which is epidemic along the Eastern Seaboard);
2. The status quo grasping to maintain power (view the news through this filter, especially the political); and
3. Accepting all the rubble that’s been dug up and piled around us (think: Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel) and starting to deal with it. Opportunities will open up now for implementing some of the plans you’ve devised. Taking steps is more important than the end goal. More fine-tuning and surprises are in store. Uranus goes retrograde in the middle of July and will return to the place of the square in mid-September and March. Each time he passes it he will lob lightning bolts that tilt our perspective, break chains and unleash the unexpected.
The other textures of the week come from the Sagittarius Full Moon lunar eclipse Friday night in most of the country, early Saturday morning in the East and the Eastern Hemisphere. This one’s super-sized, with the emotional overload of a Full Moon brimming to the max -- and then some. It’s a cosmic HA! to the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”
Normally, the Gemini/Sagittarius axis is intellectual and philosophical. It deals with words and the systems of thought we build from them (laws, religions, education). Those words and philosophical systems can and do pack a powerful emotional wallop, as this week demonstrates. Watch for grandiose displays. The emotions this Jupiter-ruled eclipse lets loose -- and the revelations it pours out -- will hit heights and depths we rarely visit.
Since the first eclipse in this cycle, in December 2010, we’ve been coming up against how our words and thoughts create not only the filters through which we view the world, but also our very experience of life. Frames of reference, life philosophies and inner chat have been up for revisiting. We’re wrapping up that reevaluation now, closing doors, ending chapters, letting go and embracing the new and improved.
The build-up to this event escalates from the start of the week, as soon as the Sun enters Gemini on Monday. Read more about the eclipse in my mooncast, which will be posted by Thursday.
With the square and the eclipse falling so close together, breakdowns and overhauls will abound in Gemini/Sagittarius delivery systems. This means road work and detours. It means technology, software and vehicles hitting the wall (and, perhaps, human sanity with it) and requiring repair, upgrade and replacing. It means the media, courts, legislatures and prejudice reaching illogical and unsupportable extremes.
To find stable patches of ground as you walk through this, periodically unhook from your environment. Disengage from the panic, the terror, the insanity, the focus on trivialities, other people’s agendas (even positive ones). Empty yourself, stabilize and check in with your own guidance system.

Monday: Edginess, agitation and a nervous awareness that something’s coming mark the day. The Sun moves into Gemini and inspires running every which way. The Moon connects to the cosmic change agents and personalizes the demand to break out of routines and make deep level shifts. We want to be done with this already, but the skies have other plans. Look for the silver linings (other people are involved). Conversations and messages take on importance late in the day. Powerful information is passed, and you have the choice to speak your truth. One tidbit in the flurry of exchanges could change your plans or thinking; welcome it.
Tuesday: We get a rough early start to the day. The change agents are not allowing heads to hide under pillows, or issues to be swept under rugs. After jolting reminders of the morphing going on, positive reinforcement follows. You’re not in this alone; in fact, everything that’s crumbling and reconfiguring is encouraging talking and connecting, and pleasantly at that. Store up good vibes. As the day goes on, tension in the air could make you question yourself (please don’t) or your sanity (reality checks are always advisable).
Wednesday: The overnight hours bring dreams that indulge a fantasy, find you choosing and getting comfortable with a course of action, and then feeling jittery a bout voicing it. Postpone acting on any of this. Big pushes won’t get anywhere yet, because the Moon is void of course from 3:36 AM - 4:50 PM EDT. Touchiness and suspicion cloud the air inside the void and after. Please strive to view yourself in the best possible light. This is a productive night for putting writing materials at the bedside.
Thursday: Guidance permeates the overnight hours. Dreams are filled with answers and with the sensation of being loved, connected and secure in your own skin. You’re still processing the latest installments of the ongoing imperative to change. Look for opportunities today to implement the ideas you’ve been entertaining (see bullet point 3 above). When you encounter communication and relationship crossroads, consider what you might adjust to reach a beneficial result. In case of an either/or situation, let your heart lead.
Friday: We have another day for hanging back and watching. The Moon is void of course from 9:56 AM to 5:50 PM EDT. This one could see an uncommon amount of activity, from people looking for external escape from an edgy atmosphere. As the Moon enters Sagittarius and begins her approach to fullness, your mind and heart fuse as Mercury and Venus meet. You know what you value and desire, and your words automatically and effortlessly convey that. Declarations of love and appreciation abound. With embraces comes the slamming of doors on the past. A new phase is here. The lunar eclipse culminates late tonight for the western three-fourths of the US, at 12:25 AM in the East. Read more about the eclipse in my mooncast, which will be posted later this week.
Saturday: You could wake up swearing you were on a midway with a funhouse and a spookhouse. Firm footing is yours in the waking world, though. Put yourself on the back for the baggage, skin and clutter you’ve shed. Proceed daringly and step out of your norm, even if it scares you. Remember that everyone is going through this. Everyone is raw and skittish and not used to proceeding as life is pushing them. Give people slack, and don’t take other people’s actions or reactions personally. Otherwise, shoving matches could take nasty turns.
Sunday: The overnight hours are rocky. The terrain is so different, inside and out. Inner children are flailing. Dreams vent fears and hesitations and anxieties that have been secretly building up and carefully kept at bay. Are recent developments too good to be true? Are you fooling yourself? Then why is your heart so happy, when the voices settle down? Questions like these occupy the void that fills the day, from 6:23 AM to 5:29 PM EDT. Change is intoxicating and unsettling, yet you are pushing for it anyway. Some of your existing obligations and arrangements no longer gibe with what you want and value -- and with what you said and heard Friday night. Dust is settling, even after the Moon clears the void and enters sensible Capricorn. The evening is testy. Proceed with your eyes and heart open.
