You know that I am a Change Coach. One of the most beneficial things I do is to help people who want to improve their lives to systematically make the necessary changes even though they currently feel locked in place and unable to change.
When I work as a change coach, we look at many different aspects of your life. I truly think, though, that the most important aspect we look at is the manner in which you think because thinking is the underlying activity in all the aspects of your life.
Would you say that you think mainly positive thoughts, negative thoughts, or an equal combination of both positive and negative? Once you choose one of the three categories, you will know where you should begin to make changes. If you are one of the lucky people who chose ‘mainly positive thoughts,’ there is still refinement to be achieved.
Next, let’s choose the area in which you currently have the most unrest, the most dissatisfaction, or the most worry or fear. Take a moment and write it down.
Refining the thinking that occurs in this troublesome area involves pulling the covers off of it. You put covers on it called and the thinking goes something like this:
• “This is too painful to think about.”
• “I don’t want to look at this.”
• “He/she really hurt me over this one.”
• “I feel betrayed about this topic.”
Some of those thoughts were put in place for your own protection because you were a dependent child. They may have saved your life. It’s now time to have another look because you are no longer a dependent child.
The more comfortable you become with what is inside your mind, the more free you will become. You will be able to tell yourself more truth, and the truth will set you free. You can open yourself up to let go of old, outwork ideas, freshen up your databases and move into the realm of health, wealth, success, happiness and joy that are your intrinsically.
Would you like to turn this area of thinking into one where the covers are pulled back and the sun shines and the smell is sweet?
Take a few moments and write down your thoughts and your feelings about this one area of your life on the right side of a piece of paper. Now, draw a line down the middle of the page and write down how you’d like to think and feel ideally about this one area of your life. Would you be willing to begin to think the ideal thoughts and feel the ideal feelings?
Would you have to take any actions to get to the position where you could think those ideal thoughts and feel those ideal feelings? What actions might those be? Are you willing to take them? If not, why not?
Imagine how your life would change if you had this one area all cleared up and the fear and discomfort was gone? Would you then be willing to do whatever it took to change?
I’ll just give you a small peek into my own life: once I learned how to do this in one small area, I could take that success into the next one, and then the next one.
