Freedom is an obvious topic for a July editorial, but not related to the freedom of nations, governments, (federal / states / local) we want to share about the only real freedom there is. These are the freedoms that no individual or government can take away because they are our divine right. We are born with the ability to create personal freedoms, but it takes a life time to reclaim the knowledge in some cases.
Of course there is the need to define what we consider to be “freedom.” I do not believe that freedom necessarily means being able to do everything you want / when you want / without regard to the impact your decisions or actions will have on those in your world. Parents who care about the health of their children do not allow them to eat excessive amounts of processed sugar. The children will probably not be very happy with the decision to limit sweets, but the parent knows that setting a good foundation is crucial to the child’s future success. The child feels his / her personal freedom’s are being refused, when in essence the parent is trying to teach habits that will prevent future disease. So what of our personal freedoms? Are we ready to be responsible?
We have the freedom to change the world! What’s stopping us? It could be because freedom takes effort. Living in this age of technology, most of the planet has access to untapped resources of information daily at their finger tips. Having the data available is only part of the equation; creating and implementing the changes necessary to heal and unite the (mind / body / spirit) is the other part. Usually, I would start my internal static when I hear anything referred to in mathematical terms. However, it appears math exists in every aspect of life – so best to embrace it early on and learn the formulas to get the very best out of life.
No complex mathematical formulas are required, only the ability to connect dots and reclaim personal FREEDOM through accepting responsibility and create change through conscious effort.
I wish that every human life might be pure transparent freedom. ~Simone de Beauvoir
