Apricots are in season now and are great tasting… and have lots of health benefits.
This fruit that grows in temperate climates such as the US, New Zealand, Turkey, and even South America.
They are full of beta-carotene, which help protect your eyes from disease and your cardiovascular system, plus beta-carotene protects LDL cholesterol from oxidation, which causes blockages of arteries.
Apricots contain lots of Vitamin A, which is great for your skin, eyes (macular degeneration) and every other part of your body. And those eating lots of Vitamin A rich foods can lower their risk of coming down with cataracts by over 40%.
Apricots have lots of fiber preventing diverticulosis, constipation, and other types of digestive diseases.
They are very low in calories, Apricots only containing around 16 calories each… great for weight loss.
Apricots also have Vitamin C, E, K, A and B Vitamins… plus Potassium, and Tryptophan which helps you to relax, de-stress, and sleep better. And Apricots contain lots of other minerals too… and also a little bit of Omega 6 fatty acids.
And Apricots contain almost every amino acid, and no saturated fats… and very little in the fats in general.
