Health & Wellness : Oct 2011 - A KISS for Health : Keep it Simple Silly

Each month we seek alternative and creative methods to help our readers focus on simple and practical ways to rediscover their individual health via the mind, body and spirit.  There is no magic pill to be offered as a supplement for individual commitment and effort.  We can share the tips and techniques that have worked for us and many others as they also discovered the most important part of living a healthy and happy life begins with the commitment and individual dedication to do so.  

 

Healing Begins with Thought

We have heard it said word and thoughts are power, so for the person who constantly has a negative outlook on life, chances are the body will manifest a physical ailment or disease to reflect the inner emotional space.  To keep the mind, body and spirit healthy it is important to continually put quality data and information in.  The body listens to every thought we have, so ensure your thoughts are productive and healthy ones.

 

Healing Begins with Helping Others

One of the fastest ways to heal “self” is to work with others and donate time, energy and love.  Lately, we have been hanging out with the Yarn Therapist who began a Humanity Healing STREETteam Group here in middle Tennessee.  There she is donating free knitting and crochet classes for those who want to learn a new craft and who want to give back.  With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are crocheting chemo caps and better boobies which we plan to donate to the Carolina Breast Friends and their Pink House in Charlotte NC. 

 

Healing Begins with Doing

This month make a conscious decision to do something that is good for you.  Be a little bit selfish if you must!  Take a walk, a long bath, get a massage, attend a yoga class, get out and into nature, drink water without toxins, buy locally grown food, breath deeply or find something that brings you peace of mind and calms the spirit.  Staying healthy is not complex, but it does take conscious decisions that benefit the entire human package.  Whatever it takes to get you motivated – I hope that this month you will invest that time wisely and back into yourself!
