Have you ever seemed in have gotten so tied up in the rushing around in your day to day life that you begin to feel lost? Not a physical feeling of being in the wrong place, although that does happen, but rather an emotional draining of your energy and a spiritual disconnection. You are busy yet inwardly seeking something, anything that is truly important to you; not your family, not your job, your past or appointments or schedules. One day you may seem to have it altogether and even sigh with relief that you have accomplished bringing mind, body and spirit together and then it happens….that feeling comes back and you are sent spiraling into the darkness once more.
Oh, the Darkness of the Soul; the time when you are awakening spiritually to your own endless possibilities. It may seem rather bleak at times but what if you were to look at this as a time of slumber; a time of rest and transformation of your soul? What if during this time of restlessness you took time to really look within your heart and found yourself? When was the last time you checked in on your own emotions, your beliefs, or paid attention to how you were creating the reality around you? Just like the night brings darkness and a reminder for you to rest mind, body and spirit perhaps it is during your inner darkness you would do well to allow things to settle, to be what they are and not try to change anything…at least not in this moment. Perhaps this is when your Higher Self or Spirit is trying to comfort your human self. It is in the time of silence and stillness that your Guides and Angels come to ease your pain and take away your burdens if only you will hand them over.
Never underestimate the healing power you hold in your heart even when all else seems lost. Remember you have the ability to connect to the Divine and by drawing that into your body become filled with unconditional love. You no doubt send love and healing to others but why do you neglect yourself?
Buddha states this about self love, “You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”
Do not fear the darkness but rather embrace it and allow its stillness to wrap itself around you and bring you peace. Use this time to go into your own heart centre and discover who you are, your own joy, your own passions. Be curious about yourself in the same way you would if you were meeting someone new. Don’t be afraid of what is inside but rather rejoice in this wonderful discovery and realization that there is a beautiful being of light hidden in the shadows waiting to emerge into the light. This friendship with yourself all starts by asking, “Hello, who are you?”
