Herbal Healing for Liver Cirrhosis - It is possible!

I write about liver cirrhosis today because someone asked me to and I want to give them hope. You see I have a great friend who had stage 4 liver disease (regular doctors said there was no hope) and now she is totally fine because of natural herbs and healing... her cirrhosis is gone.

So there is hope my friends!

First of all the liver is a very adaptable organ that wants to heal and regenerate... and given the right herbs, foods, exercise, de-stressing and taking care of yourself it will heal.

Milk Thistle has been around for years and this weed has the ability to remove toxins from the liver and help the liver start the regeneration process. Milk Thistle has been around since the time of Christ and has been helping people to heal for that long too. If you make milk thistle tea and drink one or two cups a day it will speed up recovery.

Licorice Root has shown to have great healing abilities for the liver including being anti-inflammatory, a wonderful antioxidant, antibacterial and viral agent, helps to boost your immune system, and it’s soothing to the liver in general. And taking licorice root can help normalize your liver enzymes. Licorice root has been used in Japan for over 20 years with great success, check with your master herbalist it’s use.

Guto Kola is a powerful herb that will also help detox the liver and at the same time allow the liver to start the healing process via regeneration. Guto Kola is a great antiviral and bacterial agent and also a wonderful anti-inflammatory.

Globe Artichoke is great, this wonderful food and healing herb will kickstart your liver back into the process of being normal again. It removes toxins and also soothes the liver... eat lots of great artichokes and artichoke hearts.

Bupleurum is a great herb that in clinical studies by the University of Maryland has shown to have great effects on turning around liver disease... Bupleurum is a wonderful anti-inflammatory agent. Burdock Root is very powerful for healing and detoxing the liver and you will find it in many detoxing teas and remedies.

Phyllanthus Amarus is a great herb that has show in clinical studies to help almost 60% of the people with liver disease. Dandelion leaves are great for the liver and makes a wonderful addition to any salad, plus it helps with inflammation of the liver and sooth away liver disease symptoms. You can also buy dried dandelion in capsules and in teas.

There’s a great Ayurvedic liver formula from India called Liv 52 that has been around for a long time that works well for healing and soothing liver problems.

Nettle is another great herb that can be cooked and eaten or taken in capsules or in teas that’s anti-inflammatory and helps to remove toxins from the liver. Papaya seed is very healing for liver cirrhosis along with other alkalizing foods such as figs, and radishes of all kinds are also healing for the liver.

Peppermint tea is powerful for soothing away symptoms of liver cirrhosis... a cup or two  of peppermint tea a day will do the trick. Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory agent and also antibacterial and viral agent that will do your liver good, plus green tea is great for the liver with all those powerful polyphenols.

Other herbs that help are:  Greater Celandine, Borotutu Bark, Yellow Dock Root, Chicory Root, and even Chanca Piedra.

There are many supplements that are great for liver disease such as Acetylcysteine, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Oligomeric Proanthocyanidins, L-Carnitine, and SAM-e also help to speed along recover of the liver, studies show that these supplements can improve liver function.

Taking a good multivitamin supplement is important, vitamins are needed by your liver. Plus taking lots of B vitamins has been show to be beneficial to the liver. Branch chain amino acids or none essential amino acids are important for liver health... and you can find them at any health food store.

Let your body heal with great food, start eating lots of great leafy veggies and wonderful fruits that will start the healing process. Also start juicing with alkalizing veggies such as cucumber, celery, and even cabbage and any other green veggie you can find. Alkalizing your body allows it to function correctly. Also taking probiotics for the health of your colon is important for your liver.

Chinese medicine has a lot of great herbs that can heal liver disease and it’s recommended that you find a good Traditional Chinese Medical doctor that will help you on your path to healing. Chinese doctors have many specialized herbal liver formulas for liver disease. Plus many people respond very well to acupuncture treatments for liver problems too!

Stay away from alcohol, processed food, hormones, drugs, toxins, soda, artificial sweeteners-colorings-flavorings... and anything else that is not natural. Eat organic and non GMO foods and star getting back to natural food in general. Exercise is always important, do what you can do, with liver disease you might not have a lot of energy.

De-stress your life by taking time for yourself, get out into nature, learn meditation, take a yoga, tai chi, or qigong class, listen to music, start a new hobby, go out with friends, make time for fun every day!

Also there’s the Gerson Institute (look them up on the internet, they have a great track record of healing disease) the Gerson Institute is a place to go and take two weeks and get your body back to normal and heal at the same time. They will teach you how to eat, and what juices to drink, what herbs and supplements to use, and how to take care of your liver so you can heal.

There is hope my friends... never give up... keep moving forward!
