think of them, dear friends
Aging, and after 80 years?
They are called Genevieve, Peter, Rene, Jean-François or Bouziz ... They love to slam, the smell of the sea, the laughter of grandchildren ... They live alone, in couples, sometimes roommate, at home or in a nursing home.
They speak of love, death, health, loneliness, modernity, the loss of autonomy ... with gentleness, enthusiasm, resignation and so much freedom.
Their common thread? They have over 80 years.
Without false modesty, they recall their past lives and future, the body is not working well, approaching death and their desire to die with dignity.
These stories move us to the disconcerting sincerity and smile but do allow us to understand the aging otherwise, far from alarmist and environmental fears.
Thank you to everyone who publishes these portraits of octogenarians to this remarkable story.
