Abstract: Learning that we are the ones that have control of each and every thought and emotion, and that it is up to us to really observe our self and also our surroundings to see what is happening around us that may lead to that emotion.
When you wake up in the morning, you have a choice to make, to either begin each day with a clean start, or hold on to things from yesterday or even further back. This was something taught to me as I began my healing journey 9 months ago. Having someone who cares deeply about you, asks you "are you happy" and you say "yes, really happy" with a frown on your face and are told to look at a picture of yourself and really look at the emotions that are being shown, you say "OK, thank you", hang up the phone, go to the beach and cry.
Tears are trapped emotions that we have never let go of, and also a way of the body healing, not something to be ashamed of as we were taught growing up, another limiting belief. Emotional is a term that many grow up being dubbed as, take that as an amazing name, and not something to be ashamed of. Take it from me, as this was something I also learned 9 months ago.
Speaking of 9 months, do you realize it takes 9 months for a woman to go from conception of a baby to birth? This thought just came to me as I sit here writing my first article! What a pivotal point in my life right now! I am seriously sitting here smiling and thanking God and the universe for sharing this amazing realization with me! I have metaphorically and literally given birth 2 times to 2 amazing teenagers, and now to this article and all 3 times the emotions are all over the page, like riding a wave in the ocean on a surf board!
Emotions do this to us, and by using our surfboard, we can chose to either "ride the wave", or jump off and float or drown in them. What are you choosing to do with your emotions? All answers are within each and every one of us, we just have to be willing to do the "dirty" work and really go within to listen to our body to ask what is the reason for the emotion, and how we can release the emotion.
