Not Feeling Good? 4 Things You Might Be Allergic To

Allergies can disrupt your daily life simply because they typically make you feel bad. Itchy eyes, sneezing, a rash or numerous other allergy related symptoms make you feel sluggish and uncomfortable. Have you ever felt that way but just didn’t know what was going on with you? Here are four things that just might be the reason as to why your body is acting up.

Household Cleaners

Have you ever jokingly told someone you’re allergic to housework? Did that thought originate in your mind because you find that you don’t feel well after doing basic household cleaning chores? You may not be allergic to the work itself, but to the cleaning products that you’re using. An allergic reaction to cleaning products typically presents itself in the form of a rash. While generally not life-threatening, this type of allergy can cause discomfort. Changing the cleaning products you use can solve the problem. You can also try using just water and vinegar instead of chemicals as well.

Plants

You’ve probably read that plants can be beneficial to the air inside your home. While that’s true, if you are allergic to mold, you may find that including plants in your home décor will trigger an allergic reaction. Carefully select the plants you want to keep in your home and be sure to clean the stems and leaves often to prevent mold and dust from becoming an allergy related issue. You should also be aware that the potting soil can harbor mold spores. Allowing the soil to dry between watering can lessen the chance of mold in the potting soil.

Insect Stings

Some allergic reactions can be life-threatening. As a precaution, you might want to visit an allergist, such as one from Oak Brook Allergists, to learn more about the symptoms and dangers related to being stung by bees and other such insects. You can also arrange to be tested to see if you are allergic. This is a situation where knowledge and preparedness can be life-saving.

Technology Allergy

Having a technology allergy doesn’t mean that you’re allergic to the changes that technology has brought to your everyday life. The allergy is actually a metal allergy. Many devices such as cell phones, iPhones, iPads and tablets often contain nickel or cobalt which trigger an allergic reaction in some people. Most often, the use of a protective cover on the devices can eliminate a skin irritation from occurring.

If you notice a rash on your skin or if you begin to feel bad without an immediate explanation, you may be coming in contact with something you are allergic to. Being tested for allergies, especially insect sting allergies, can help you pinpoint allergens that affect you and can possibly help you avoid an emergency situation cause by an allergic reaction.

Hi, Hannah: Two things to let you know - first is your article falls short of our 700 word count, so it would need a few more paragraphs. Second is that we ask contributors to include a bio paragraph with every submission.

Once you have made these changes, please message me directly so it may be reviewed once more. ~ Blessings!
