Retrograde Doesn’t Have to Be A Barrier to Spiritual Growth

Retrogrades are scary. People hear the words “mercury retrograde,” envision the planet closest to the Sun spinning backwards, and immediately start charging their electrical devices and cancelling doctor’s appointments. They hear “Venus retrograde” and begin drunk dialing old lovers.

This month there are five retrogrades imposing their energies on the people of the earth. Venus is passing through, but Mercury is both in Retrograde and slowed down by Taurus, which is held back by Saturn's heavy Retrograde. Spiritual seekers may want choose to burn through the density of lower-frequency energies. We spoke with retrograde renegade Marie Bargas and Minister Ora B. Nance Woodley, who are teaming for a Magick Lab class and Seichem Reiki Demonstration called Retrograde Reiki Rescue, Reclaiming the Magick Within for some simple solutions to the spiritually radioactive retrograde.

Both experts agreed that the polarized magnetic pull doesn’t necessarily only draw the negative.

“I'm known as the ‘Retrograde Renegade,” laughs Marie Bargas. “In my personal experience I use the ‘Retrograde’ aspects of each particular planet to address specific behaviors, energies and blockages that I want to remove and release.”

While she is deeply rooted in information and metaphysical sciences, Bargas’ approach is more eclectic.

“I work with these energies like an painter,” she says. “Each energy is a color/paint and I create my own reality using the "brush" of my mind. Magick is an art and I am an artist.”

Minister Ora B. Nance Woodley takes a personal approach to combatting stellar interference.

“My relationship with retrograde planets has deepened from the feeling of encountering a fear-filled neighbor I try to avoid to the kind I have with the ancestors or any crone who has a sharp edge to her,” says Woodley.

“I sit with the energy potential and, in the case of Mercury, rather than try to ‘work my will,’ I listen and feel the energy vibration. I listen to Spirit and attempt to dance with it.”

Woodley will beg off on signing any contracts, but she will work the chassis.

“I check the water in my car’s radiator, repair anything that needs my attention, like buttons, zippers, etc. and I plan new steps to advance my purpose on this planet,” Woodley says. “I also tend to sleep more and do more prayers and meditation...inward time.”

There are five retrogrades this month. Astrology is all sorts of math and starglazed eyes, but you don’t have to be a quantum physics scientist to navigate this thing.

“As I said, magick is an art and a magician is an artist,” Bargas explains. “Each planet corresponds to a different vibration, these are the bricks or the building blocks of fate and reality. Remember the 3 Little Pigs? The house made of straw was weak. The house made of wood was flammable. The house made of bricks was strong and it withstood the elements and the Big Bad Wolf.

“I make my magickal houses out of the bricks of the planetary energies. I'm creative. I like palaces and villas. These magickal constructs can withstand the force of the planets because they are made from the planetary energies. No one is going to huff and puff and blow my house down,” she concludes, smiling and miming herself putting on a red cape.

When life gives you retrograde, a little lemonade might not cover it. The transcendental technicians also prescribed hacks to ease a spiritual mission in the midst of a series of extreme retrogrades, planetary or otherwise.

“The three most influential planets to human beings are the Earth, the Sun and the Moon,” Bargas says. “The Earth is what we are standing on and where we come from.  The Moon has the most significant magnetic pull. It governs the tides of the oceans and within us. And the Sun is the largest planet with the most gravitational power. The other planets are satellites. I use stones, tones and herbs in connection with these three planets during the retrogrades.”

As Mercury Retrograde launches alongside the debris of Venus Retrograde and Saturn Retrograde, Magick Lab combines healing and meditation in an emergency "feel good" 2 hours of spirit, connection and DNA repair.

Minister Ora B. Nance-Woodley began her spiritual service work in 1987. She has taught Meditation/Visualization, Conflict/Resolution, Tapping(4styles) Leadership, Forgiveness, Public Speaking, Muscle Testing, Seichim-Reiki and is a Phlebotomist.

Marie Bargas’s abilities awoke after a near fatal car accident left her in a coma for 3 days at the age of 19. Bargas hosts the weekly radio program Magick Lab Academy on SOC Radio on Wednesdays. The Los Angeles based celebrity psychic began her media career as a "Vampire Expert" on Entertainment Tonight.

Hi, Tony - thank you for revising the article to meet our size requirements. This is a topical, "of the moment" report, as opposed to an article that we might schedule a few months from now. Furthermore, the two experts mentioned in the article speak from their first-person perspectives, which again, is contrary to the inclusive way we present articles from the greater "we" perspective.

Also, there are still embedded links to the two experts you interviewed, neither of whom have any affiliation with OMTimes other than being mentioned in your article. While we appreciate reporting, this type of promotion does go against our submission standards.

Remember for inclusion in the printed eZine we would look a few months ahead. We are currently scheduling print articles into June and July, so this would lose its efficacy.

For the reasons outlined above, it is not being recommended to the publishers. Thank you ~ Blessings!
