This morning, I sat gazing out the window at the glorious green, sipping Dark Roast and almondmilk and nibbling succulent grapes and toast. My eyes fell on Emmet Fox’s “Thoughts for Thinkers,” a sermon given by Emmet Fox 74 years ago at Unity Village.
My thoughts moved to the Guest Minister Talk and Meditation I gave at Spirit of Unity last weekend, on welcoming ALL new experience (even the “Tough Stuff”) with open arms as the bringer of gifts that it truly is…and I looked forward with anticipation to hearing what my husband Richard will say as Guest Minister at Unity of Reading this coming Sunday. I love to hear his voice and when he speaks to groups of people, something beautiful activates. He’s lit up from inside. Mmm, what a treat!
As I enjoyed my mental stew and morning brew, I picked up a pen and began goofing around. I offer you this musing with best wishes for a delightful day:
A Silly Morning Poem
Life’s a banquest or a mess
‘pending on your consciousness.
Do you feel it light and airy,
sweet and rich,
or dense and scary?
Challenge offering secret gifts,
like open hearts and inner shifts.
Experience and choice abounds,
Cities, villages and towns…
Wise and lofty thoughts for thinkers,
ratting-outs for finky finkers,
smelly words and deeds for stinkers,
smoochy hugs for happy linkers
awesome concert tix for Pinkers,
brand new skates for hocket rinkers,
fastballs, sliders, curves and sinkers…
Curse and moan? Appreciate?
Life is what you make it, Mate!
