Cascading golden, crimson, pumpkin, saffron leaves pirouette to earth mesmerizing us.  Their elegance and grace is enchanting.  A gentle wind, a rustle, a dramatic gust - a sacred leap from the known into the unknown moves them forward along their journey of next expression.  Driving along tree lined streets, it is almost like a Balinese blessing as they drape themselves all over your car.

Fall is a time of deep surrender.  Death never looked so good. "Release. Let go. Trust." A continuous chant of transformation. They seem to jump off with utter glee. Never have I heard them complain.   Do they even know they will turn to compost and return as some new beauty in the spring?  The promise lies in the leap.

The visual reminder of surrender allows us to become aware of the thoughts that have us chained to our past, living life from a rear view mirror perspective and missing the present moment.

Surrendering is not abdicating power which is so ego.  It is not losing control which is so fear. It is not becoming complacent which is so deceiving.  It is being fully present, fully engaged, fully aware that all is happening in Divine Right Action and Order.  What we resist, persists.  If the fall leaves never let go they would never begin life in a new form.  Spring would be in an infinite state of waiting.

It is true liberation to be present.  Surrendering is a practice that allows us to embrace our feelings and needs, honor the fears and worries, bear witness to suffering, celebrate the good, yet we do not cling. It frees us, it is expansive and it allows Infinite new possibilities to unfold.

All we have is this Holy, Sacred NOW.   In the beauty, in the pain, the paradoxical dance of heaven as earth.  Be awake, aware and alive to all that life offers.   No need for lingering stories - like the crimson good-byes, let go, let GOD, let it BE.

Enjoy the fall palette and the exquisite beauty it provides you moment to moment.   Stand beneath a tree and allow the gliding leaves to baptize you in Grace.  As you release, you are creating a space for a new possibility to arise.  Be present.
