You all know how devastating a fire can be. How it can take everything and reduce it to nothing. Even if you have not lived through one you can empathize with those who have.
Because I teach the lesson of turning things to a solution oriented thought process, let's turn this around and look at it from another perspective. Just what is happening in an interaction with fire? The short answer is that the heat acts on the fuel and actually transforms it into a different substance. This is true but we are going a bit deeper here.
Your body does this with the food you eat. The food is the fuel and the heat is your digestive apparatus. The action of transformation here is to change the food into fuel for your body. Your chakra system does this also. Your first chakra is connected with the element of earth, which we will call matter (the fuel). Your second chakra's element is water, which we will call movement. Matter and movement together equal action, energy and when you add your power; your will found at chakra three whose elemental correspondence is fire you transform whatever you are working on into a new state of being.
You must make room for change to occur. You need to empty yourself to make room for growth and transformation and to do this, sometimes you need to grieve. Tears, hot, liquid, moving transforming tears can help you with this process.
Tears are more than just moisture for the comfort of your eyes. Tears can be a river of letting go. They can be the tsunami that wipes away everything, transmuting one thing (grief and loss) to another (room to allow your new state.) Healed and ready to move forward. They come out hot, wet and moving washing away and changing. They leave you spent, emptied and ready for something better.
In our culture we are taught that tears show weakness. I disagree. I feel that they can show a willingness to allow feeling, transformation and moving on. A fact of life is that we must lose to gain. The heat and flow of your tears are like the heat and movement of fire because they act on the emotion (their fuel) to break down and transmute or transform it to a state of healing. We must change old things in order to create new new ones (like habits, perceptions and judgments). If these stay the same we stagnate, regress and die inside.
I challenge you to embrace your ability to let go, to wash clean and to allow change, even if you have to shed tears of transformation to do it.
