Looking at the Climate for January 2010...
Cluster and Fluster:
According to the pundits at Encarta; Cluster: a group of galaxies or stars (or planets) that are gravitationally interacting in space and appear to an observer on Earth to be close together. ~ Fluster: to become nervous or agitated, or make somebody become nervous or agitated.
Greetings fellow Pilgrims!
The year 2010 begins with a number of conflicting energies that will be around for the entire month of January. When properly embraced, these influences will cause the seeker to evolve upward to a higher state of consciousness. When the chela resists change, well... imagine “carpet-bombing” in a celestial sense.
The world one inhabits is the out-picturing of our inner thoughts, feelings and beliefs ~ and the movement in the heavens is our invitation to progress with the unfolding of the Universe. As one aligns Oneself to the ebb and flow of celestial tides, life becomes effortless. Woe unto He who resists with impunity, for Pluto is edgy in the early stages of its passage across the midHaven in Capricorn.
January and the year 2010 enters with a seductive, feminine, fulling of the Moon in Cancer, its oppositional dance with the Sun, masculine and Earthy, in Capricorn. Mercury in retrograde brings a potential for miscommunication to the boudoir so the Sage is careful to think before speaking or acting. All interaction with those around you should be conducted with respect and the grace of forgiveness. Patience with the mechanical articles that enrich one’s life is wise, also.
We come into this time of yearly renewal with planets in clusters, each one’s nature influenced by another. Pluto (purgative) and Venus (our personal Art of Living), Sol (life force) and Mercury (communication and exchange) Rx [in retreat] are housed in Capricorn, the sign of the Goat... stubborn and lofty in its position at the height of the wheel. Saturn (the Teacher) squares the Kin of the Goat from its position in Libra, demanding we obey Life’s rules. This is a time for discretion and compliance. One’s pose in existence is under scrutiny by the heavens and doors will be opened for those who are diligent. Rewards come with effort, but he who runs counter to the union of humanity will be forced to do penance. Pay that parking ticket or deal with the tire-boot!
Chiron (Self-sacrifice) and Neptune (Life’s Mysteries) are married to Jupiter, (Lord of the Planets, the expansive desire) in Aquarius, the WaterBearer... impersonal and serene. Mars in retrograde in the fiery sign of Leo seeks to oppose and disrupt this trinity. As the Moon crosses over Mars expect conflict and subversion, the Warrior and the Goddess unite to contest all who seek to further personal cause. This is a time when forward motion will seem difficult but be patient, the transit is fast. By the second week of Janus all conflict will be resolved as the trine of Moon to Uranus will bring serendipitous release.
Saturn will turn back toward Virgo on the 14th; those who were tardy with Virginal homework will be given the chance to make up for poor grades. As it begins to descend below the horizon into the 6th house of job and health, nurturing others and self would be wise.
The Moon will be newing on the 15th, and union with the Sun brings fruition to seeds planted on the first day of the New Year. This union will bring the first eclipse in 2010; Sol will see a shadow fall upon the Earth in Capricorn, taking the shape of the Dragon’s Head. The Pilgrim should ponder the events of 19 years before, for the cycle will repeat with this New Moon. Doors open that were closed and there will be option given to not repeat the past.
Impish Mercury will find its bearings and return to direct on the 16th; clouds of confusion will begin to clear and Electra will bring the Dawn’s light. The seeker will notice she’s given to more lucid thinking and ease with communication is restored. To the sojourners delight, lost valuables might suddenly reappear.
Lord Jupiter, Sovereign of the Planets, will enter Pisces, the home of the Fishes, on the 18th. This is the arrival of the Missionary, the return of the Prophet. For the next 12 months benevolence abounds and the Pilgrim is offered a helping hand from the Divine. This placement is the most optimistic position for Jupiter to arrive at and the tide of redemption flows back to the shoreline. Those who have shovel and pale at ready surely a buried treasure in the sand will find!
January ends with the moon coming to full in the Lion on the 30th. Bright Orb of darkness casts shadows across the nightscape... patterns of life’s journey are woven to reveal the tapestry of one’s being. The Chela would be wise to ponder the mystery of self in the flickering embers of Leo this night.
January presents the Voyager with both high and low points as so it is with all Seasons of Mankind; our lives in the material world are given to duality. As 2010 begins the Wisdom of the Buddha would have us contemplate thusly:
On life's journey Faith is nourishment,
Virtuous deeds are a shelter,
Wisdom is the light by day and Right mindfulness is the protection by night.
If a man lives a pure life nothing can destroy him;
If he has conquered greed nothing can limit his freedom.
