Every human on Earth is gifted with an energy field. How we feed that energy determines our thoughts, emotions and actions during the events in our lives. If we feel threatened or anxious over making decisions, our thinking can become irrational, even paranoid. If we are feeling secure and optimistic, we can take the time to make better choices.

The power struggles that exist on the Earth are really about controlling the energy of thoughts and actions of others. Humans love competition and the need to win. Some will do anything necessary to be right, even re-writing history and lying when they know there is no solid proof of bad behavior. Lately we have been witnessing extreme bullying, bigotry, name-calling, insulting and demeaning actions from those who want their power to be absolute. We have been the victims of emotional assault by people in authority whose real mission was to help grow and heal our society but instead have divided us with pettiness and ego.

A child can easily learn how to manipulate others when they don’t get what they want. A parent who is critical, controlling or distant can be a real past issue for an adult who wants attention. At the same time, a parent who enables a child to throw tantrums and gives them everything they ask for may have a manipulative bully in the family later. As adults, most of us learn the consequences of our actions and these tantrums are a thing of the past. It’s not so easy for others who don’t see the issues they bring about when they are threatening and unkind.

Why would anyone follow a leader who uses their power to dominate, discriminate and offend? Why would we make excuses for negative behavior when we would not do these things personally? As human beings, who understand what love and compassion are, why would we not speak out when we see injustice and unfairness? The need to be right about a decision is at the core of the answer. We feed on the energy of power instead of love when we place ourselves in these situations. It’s always okay to admit that things aren’t working out the way they should have. It’s okay to plan a new course of action.

The energy of love allows us to agree to disagree, to listen to others opinions and concerns, to respond instead of react with ego and emotion. When we come from a place of compassion and caring, we are better able to have empathy and understanding for lives we have never lived. We start to care for human beings as a whole and not just a certain town or country because we live there. We are all in this world together to work together in connecting and healing the Earth’s challenges as a whole.

Good and evil exist on a myriad of levels. From people who care for and rescue animals to those who hunt beautiful creatures just for sport and ego. Entertainers who make us laugh, cry and sing or charlatans who scare us with horror movies of the darkness. When anyone wants to divide us, whether by race or class or any other reason that judges us for what we are instead of who we are, we have a choice. The choice to accept the behavior or to speak out against what we know in our hearts is without merit to our souls.

If we can truly discern the energy of love and hold that true to those we support in politics, religion and life in general we can use our voices to change what offends us. The energy of love outweighs all others. It contains the ingredients we need to grow a healthy thriving community in which people are not made to live in fear and judgment. We have the power when realize we have it. We have all been exposed to the negative outcome of leaders who abuse and use their power to divide us. Then it’s up to the people to come back together again. We can collectively make a decision to no longer give power to those who would separate us and work on building communities of trust, support plus empowerment for everyone. When we bring our energies together with love and compassion we all win.
