The Power to Heal is in your Hands
What if I told you that changing your diet can heal your chronic illness. Would you change it?
What if I told you exercising can heal your chronic illness. Would you exercise?
What if I told you addressing your emotions can heal your chronic illness. Would you address them?
What if there was concrete scientific proof that all of the above heals disease more than any medication? Would you get off medications and take charge of your life?
There was a couple of times I've been called extreme in my methods of healing. The reality is that my methods are far from extreme but are really just basic common sense methods. Those who feel my methods are extreme are often those who have a deep sense of fear in facing their lives. They struggle with accepting that they may be co-contributors to their disease and when I suggest they revamp their diet or work on change, they realize how hard it is, so they label it extreme.
These are the same people who blame outside forces for being sick instead of looking inward to see how maybe they have contributed to manifesting their disease.
To me it's more extreme to not put forth every effort into trying to heal oneself by looking deep within and applying common sense. Healing means stepping up to the plate and living healthy again and not everyone is ready for that.
Most people facing disease are looking for the fast cure or the magic pill to what ails them. They believe their health issues arrived out of nowhere and entered their body like a thief in the night that stole their health away. In reality, disease doesn't happen over night, but is followed by a succession of events that break the body down to lead up to the demise.
Back in 2007, when I was diagnosed with chronic illness I went the medication route because I knew no other way. When I realize that the medications were not working and were making me more sick, I knew there had to be a better way to heal. At this point, I was prepared to do anything and everything to heal. I would have hopped on one foot in broken glass if I knew that was the "cure".
Not one of my Doctors advised me to change my diet or even asked me about my diet. Nor did they ever ask about any other parts of my life. All they did was offer me pills and 15 mins of their time. It took me years of being chronically ill to realize it was ME and me alone that would heal my body. I could not place that responsibility of healing on any doctor.
This is when I decided to do a huge overhaul of my life. I changed my diet, learned about how my body worked, learned to release blockages in my energy, I stopped being a victim and also faced my emotional demons. I left no stone unturned. The process of healing was daunting but was worth every moment because this process lead me to get well.
There is no magic pill to healing disease, even if you believe there is one. There is NO medication or medical doctor who can "cure" your illness. Healing comes from change and having the courage to face the issues which are causing the disease.
Dr Bernie Siegel talks about the "exceptional" patient in his book "Love, Medicine and Miracles". Exceptional patients will try anything at any and all cost to heal, even when that means addressing diet/ lifestyle change, facing inner demons and even hopping on one food in broken glass.
He also talks about the compliant patient who is comfortable with their illness and who won't make a move to change and in turn become passive in their healing hoping outside forces will cure them.
The good news is; You have the power to heal, you just need to be courageous enough to open that door.
