When I was on Sabbatical in San Diego I was so blessed to join a Master Mind group. Over the years I have been invited to participate -and also lead- such groups. When I lived in Florida I facilitated an Empowering Women series that held many of the elements of traditional Master Mind collaboratives.
While on Sabbatical in San Diego declined most all such invitations, including networking groups. I needed a break from what was seeming like relentless pitches, marketing ploys and general busyness of networking gatherings.
Yet, when this group was being formed I jumped at the chance to be included. I welcomed the opportunity to sink in to "being taught" by the amazing Judy Foster.
Judy is the founder of Women's Wisdom network in North County San Diego. During my residences in the South East and the North East, I had "followed" her on Meetup for years, recommending all my friends in San Diego attend her monthly Meetups. Even though I had never attended myself, nor even met Judy. Why? Because in addition to the benefits of "networking" her Women's Wisdom Meetup group seemed to send off an invitational energy of Spirit.
Marketing. Definitely Yes.
But also a Spiritual element that seemed as much the foundation as the icing on the cake.
So, immediately upon my arrival for Sabbatical in California, I began attending her Meetups. They were exactly as I had hoped they would be. Each included an interesting featured Speaker as well as opportunity to get to know other business women. Each gathering was wrapped in the positive energy I had until then only imagined would be present. Judy herself was the embodiment of these elements.
After attending only a couple Meetups, Judy announced that she would be starting a new Womens Master Mind group. I immediately expressed interest.
Admittedly, I was still somewhat hesitant to "join" anything. Especially anything that would mean an hour long commute. Even if it was only a weekly commute, I was not much in "commitment-mode." Proof to that was my late arrival at the scheduled time for the Introductory Meeting the following Monday. Outside the door, I was greeted by Judy's husband Ken Foster who was enrolling participants. I hesitated to sign up at that moment, saying I would decide for certain after the meeting.
The moment I walked through the door I came face-to-face with Judy and the women who gathered for presumably the same reason I did.
To be fed.
To be nurtured.
To learn and to Collaboratively Manifest "What's Next" in our lives.
At that moment, the moment I walked through the door - I knew I was joining. And paid in full the requested fee to participate.
Over the course of the next several months of my Sabbatical I met each week with these amazing women - 13 of us in total. A "coven" by any other name. Yet this was not a gathering of Witches, or even of Mystics, though many in our group could qualify for such lofty titles. This was a gathering of female entrepreneurs. Each in our own right seeking to Design Our Lives. Doing so as we collectively Envisioned Each Other's Highest Good.
Most were seeking to enhance their businesses or incomes, others sought ideal mates or balancing of familial relationships, still others desired peace in their lives or physical fitness. Whatever we wanted, individually or collectively, we worked together to achieve it.
I was delighted to immerse in something I Was Not Leading! Honestly, that was one of my primary motives for joining this group. To be a "follower" and not assuming my usual "leadership" role. And in as much as I was able to "follow" - "leading" was also part of it. For we each are leaders in our own lives. We each are leaders in supporting each other. This group incorporated aspects of self-sufficiency as taught by modern-day-gurus touting Law of Attraction, Power of Intention, etc. But perhaps more importantly, I certainly believe more importantly, this group emulated the reality of our inter-connectedness. Yes, it is important for us to strive to find ways to be self-reliant, yet it is far more important for us to acknowledge that communities thrive when they work in interconnected ways.
Judy spearheaded our Master Mind group with deft lessons, an abundance of skills she learned from myriad credentials from all manner of classes she herself has taken over the years, and a fountain full of intuition.
During the course of the four months I was an active member of this group, I manifested as if by magic three of my rather huge goals:
- I curated and published a book
- I co-produced an International Women's Day event in Santa Barbara
- I located and bought a beautiful retreat home in Maine
And I became abundantly clear on what I wanted my day-to-day life to look like. I became abundantly clear on how I wanted to fulfill my Life's Purposes and my Heart's Desire.
And I made 12 Life Long Friends!
Through Women's Wisdom - the Meetup and the Master Mind, Judy supports women and gathers them together to support each other.
For those wishing to Manifest their Dreams, I cannot express how fully and completely I recommend Judy Foster's Women's Wisdom Master Mind Group.
