As you probably know, Dec.21, 2012 marked the end of the Mayan calendar. In the months leading up to that date, many people speculated whether the earth would suffer a catastrophic event that would destroy it. Those who are spiritually conscious believed that the date held a deeper meaning than the obliteration of the physical world: the transformation and upward spiraling of humankind’s consciousness from one of fear and separation to one of love and unity. Although it’s difficult to pin a date on such an enormously significant process, there is ample, current evidence to suggest that we are indeed moving towards the flowering of a new world where hope, compassion, love and unity have begun to unfold like never before. In case you haven’t noticed, the tearing down of our old world has already begun in the undoing of firmly entrenched “systems” that do not support the incoming higher consciousness.
How might this affect you and your life? The answer is simple: you will become increasingly aware of the light of divinity within you, which will continually urge you to express itself in all of its brilliance. You will become more and more conscious of the need to release your personal baggage from the past to allow your soul’s light to shine. Inner guidance through intuition- the voice of your soul- will become compelling and undeniable. If you should doubt or lose faith in the ever-present goodness which resides within you, remember this: you are never separate from the source of all healing- the Light of Spirit within you. You (yes, you!) are that and nothing less.
The following simple guidelines will help you to assimilate the new consciousness more easily:
-make a spiritual connection- meditation, prayer or still time- daily. Connecting wtih the wisdom of your soul is the anchor when change impacts you from the outside world. Maintaining a focus on inner guidance helps you to navigate during times of uncertainty, choas and fear.
-release the past and future. Cherish the moment. Everyone- rich, poor, young or old- has one thing in common: the present moment. No one has any other time than this. Pulling all of your focus into present time faciliates healing and eliminates wasted precious life energy given to the past and future.
-cultivate and appreciate your unique contribution to life. Each of us has the ability to serve in a genuine, heart-centered capacity. Keep this in mind: No one can do your work-whatever it is- like you. Consider ways that you can give your talents to others in need. Keep in mind that everything we give to others is always given back to ourselves, by virtue of the universal law of karma. There is never loss when we open our heart in service.
Above all, know that you are more than a physical body. Your presence here on earth at this time is not by accident. You are here to grow, thrive and emanate the light of Spirit within. Recognizing and spreading that light is what the new consciousness is really all about. Happy New Year!
