There is person who has a slightly low platelet count and no matter what she does, even taking herbs her platelet count does not go up. She is totally healthy and doesn’t have any symptoms, but doctors keep raising red flags and saying this is bad. So she goes into a tizzy thinking there is something terribly wrong. But the reality is that many of us have slight differences in a biology, our blood work and other things that make us individual… that are of no consequence.
Take for instance a man who has irregular looking optic nerves in his eyes. And he has slightly elevated intraocular pressure of his eyes. He has had this slightly elevated pressure ever since he was a child. His vision is not a problem, there’s no disease, he has 2020 vision and he is extremely healthy. Yet doctors say there is something wrong… and they don’t like it. He has lived this way all his life… even as child this was normal for him. But doctors put the fear of God into him and make him start worrying about his eyes.
There is another man who only eats one meal a day… and doctors tell him that is extremely unhealthy. Even though all this bloodwork is completely normal. And he is good looking, able to walk 3 or 4 miles a day, he works out at the gym, and does lots of activity, even more than some of his grandkids. But his doctors tell him that only eating one meal a day might lead to diabetes… even know his blood sugar is completely normal. So again they put the fear of God in him and make him worry about something that’s completely normal for him.
I’ve been slightly anemic all my life, it’s normal for me. But I don't feel bad, I have lots of energy, I walked 5 miles a day, I work out at the gym, and I have lots of energy and vitality. But again doctors tell me, this is not good and try to put the fear of God into me… and make me worry. But I don’t listen! I feel great and there is really no reason to worry about something that’s not a problem to begin with.
Another woman who is in her 60s, has slightly elevated cholesterol. She is in great shape, she's had angiograms to confirm that her heart vessels are not open and clear. Her eating habits are very healthy with lots of fruits and vegetable, yet her cholesterol seem to be slightly high all the time. For some people this may be normal. That's not to say that high cholesterol is good, it just means for this person’s slightly elevated cholesterol might be normal. But again doctors try to put the fear of God into her and make her worry.
In fact on my bloodwork my sodium level is much lower than the normal blood sodium level of most people. Does that make me sick, or is it the normal population which is sick? In fact the normal population blood pressure has gone up from on 120/80 to 150/90… but my blood pressure runs 110/70… does that make me sick or unhealthy in some way? Of course not! What really is the problem is that society has become more and more ill. And thus the norms that we have for bloodwork, blood pressure, and other parameters are really not true normal at all. They are normal values for an overweight and unhealthy society.
Doctors seem to get all worked up over slight changes for individual people, but the reality is we are all different, with slight differences that vary from the norm. And when doctors pinpoint things and try to make us feel ill… they are doing us a disservice because fear can create more disease in the long run.
So if a person has always had some slight change in their bloodwork, blood pressure, or any other parameter. And if that person has always had that slight change even as a child. Most of the time there is nothing to worry. And if there are no symptoms, no disease, and no health challenge of any kind… don’t worry… be happy.
Remember we are all different, and we don’t fit into cookie cutter explanations for just about anything.
We are all human, and we are all very different - Thank GOD!
