Today, my friend should have been starting her new job but, two weeks ago her then new boss pulled the plug.  No apology.  No explanation.  Nothing.  My friend said that, at first, she was shocked but, that she also felt an overwhelming sense of calm.  A calm that completely overshadowed the anxious thoughts and feelings that were trying to creep in.

I asked her why it was that she left her previous job anyway.  To my knowledge, from what she had told me anyway, she was doing really well.  Her boss really liked and believed in her; always finding ways to develop and propel her forward in her career.  She was also achieving great results, although this is no surprise because she worked so hard and all the hours God sent.  In fact, we hardly ever saw her.  From the outside looking in she had it all; a great career with promising future, good salary and was doing really well.  So, with all that on her side what exactly was the problem?

"I was living somebody else's dream.....I was exhausted,".  She proceeded to tell me about her horrendously long commute, her jealous colleagues (believe me it never ceases to amaze me just how low some women can go in the workplace) and her constant tiredness.

You see she loved her job, she really did and she would speak enthusiastic about her work and the results (after all none of us knew about the bad side).  Despite the love for her work the constant pressure to develop and rise to the top, coupled with the jealous and endless, "mindless" competition all became too much.  In her own words all she really wanted was to "get on with her job".  Rising to the top and competing with the team wasn't part of the agenda, not hers anyway.  Why?  Well, she had another dream, a passion that really spurred her on and this is what she wanted to pursue.  This is what she wanted to be evolve into her career.  It was this that fueled her decision to move jobs and work closer to home.  She anticipated that she would have a greater work life balance.  A work life balance that would enable her to pursue her passion, enjoy her life and be herself again.  Right now, that's exactly what she's doing!

You see, if you ask me there was an element of Divine Intervention at work here.  I believe that my friend is definitely being guided.  Guided to follow her passion and her soul purpose.  If you ask me, that is beautiful.  I mean, I cant tell you the amount of times I have had new clients ask me to tell them their purpose.  It is that one, often illusive thing, that many people spend their lifetime searching for (much like love) but, sadly never find it. The fact that she has found it is a beautiful thing and is something that should be celebrated.

I may sound bias, because she is one of my closest friends but actually I truly mean it.  It's great to see that she has turned a 'setback' into an opportunity.  An opportunity to live her own dream, rather than living somebody else's dream.  That takes courage.

Will she be successful in turning her passion into a successful career?  Well, I cant say for sure, no psychic can and I also make sure that I never give my friend's readings anyway.  But, from what I know of her I am confident, no I know that she will be a phenomenal success.  Does it matter if she is successful or not?  Personally, I do not think so.  I believe that this was fated and she is being given the opportunity to have a go!  After all, you don't know if you can live your dream and make it the success that you envision it to be until you try.
