I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and have completed yoga and related meditation training courses in such diverse traditions as Power Yoga with Baron Baptiste, Tantric Yoga practices with Paul Muller-Ortega, and Core Strength Vinyasa with Sadie Nardini. I have an appreciation of the self-healing nature of the human body and of the interactions between mind and body and integrate a wide range of yogic practices in my approach to life: meditation, chanting, mudra and asana organize together to create a full, warm, rich and life-affirming experience on and off the mat. I have also studied Botanical Medicine and Ayurveda at the University of Arizona’s Program in Integrative Medicine and am presently completing the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy 200 hour program.
I have worked with children in some form for over 20 years and studied Childhood Education, ultimately receiving my degree in Cognitive Anthropology from Occidental College in Los Angeles, with studies focused on human language & cognition, child faith, and cross-cultural religious education. I learned meditation with a Buddhist Reverend on campus and wrote my senior thesis on the Buddhist temple’s Dharma School program. Professional certification is from the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE™) facility in Silver Lake, California, where I completed certificates in Theory and Practicum, which include the study of gross motor, social and cognitive development. My firm foundation in educational theory and practice serve as the cornerstone of a profoundly respectful and honoring teaching relationship with my yoga students, for my
great love is teaching. I currently help coordinate the Sunday School Program at Park City's Unity Spiritual Center, teaching yoga and meditation to the congregation's children on Sunday mornings on the second Sunday of each month.
