How often do you have an inspired thought and you’re certain that you will take the steps to actualize this amazing vision, only to later regret that you never took action? Or perhaps you began to take action and lost momentum because the pieces didn’t seem to come together in the timeframe you expected?
Most of us were not raised with an education that encouraged us to continue moving forward once we hit challenges or setbacks that appeared to detour the path of our desired…

With a glance she's able to melt the coldest hearts of men. Her smile illuminates forests of still trees and activates ocean tides on a moonless night. Those that are in her presence are given gifts that make anxious children wait up all night on Christmas Eve. Her beautiful curves fire minds and immediately start thoughts racing towards endless summer nights. Those who attempt to tame her are left broken and withered like autumn leafs. Their emotions all the colors of the season. As she…

If you listen to mainstream media or watch reality T.V. then the message that you're being fed is that happiness comes from more stuff. Bigger house, fancier car and clothes, expensive jewelry and shoes, exotic vacations, more money and a better job will get you the life of your dreams. We all have bought into that lie, the lie that tells us that happiness is a reaching out instead of a melting in. We over stimulate, over medicate and over work to drown out how we truly feel and…

I AM – The Embodiment of Me, Myself, and I
Artwork by Natalia Koreshkova
“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” – Lao Tzu

I remember an evening - a long time ago, in my childhood, when my Dida (grandmother) came to our house. I was supposed to do my homework, but couldn’t put my mind into it. Because Dida was a great story teller - mainly dealing with the supernatural! I was dragging my feet, and my mother was scolding me for not finishing my homework quickly. I was trying hard to finish it, but just couldn’t do it - my mind was so distracted to listen to a Dida’s story! My mother kept on checking on…

There are basically two distinct schools of Christian thought: The Aristotelian-Thomistic school and the Augustinian-Franciscan school.
The Aristotelian-Thomistic school teaches that animals are here for our pleasure—they have no independent purpose. We can eat them; torture them in laboratories – whatever we feel is necessary for our survival. Most modern Christians embrace this form of their religion.
The Augustinian-Franciscan school, however, teaches that all living beings…

If there is one thing absolute in this world it is that food has the power to unite. And the recent floods that devastated parts of the Balkans is a case in point. People from all ethnicities are reaching out to help their "brothers" and "sisters." Using the purest food (prasadam) to create peace and unity in the world is Food for Life's primary mission. We are not a hunger relief organization, per se, but rather a network of projects aimed at addressing the root cause of hunger, and in…

A few years ago I decided to write a book on billiards and incorporate some of the wisdom I gained from living the life of a monk. There is nothing wrong with following your passion and one of my life ling passions has been billiards. So I wrote a book called the YOGA of POOL. One recent review from a customer:
"The author clearly defines areas of one's inner workings of the body and mind such that the readers will is brought to the surface for…Continue

Habits are something we all have. They can haunt us like a wicked ghosts hanging on our back, or just be little annoyances like the occasional mosquito on a starry night. Whatever the case may be, they are often not beneficial to hold on to. Especially, when we consider how transient this world is and how frivolous life can be.
Those little habits that we have carried for decades can sometimes bite us where it hurts, and all we can do is slump our shoulders and wonder why we have…

On this day we honour our mother and all mothers that are near and dear to us by buying them flowers, chocolates or maybe making them breakfast in bed. It is a day to meditate on the unconditional love that our mothers have offered us all these years. However, all these sincere and loving gestures we offer on Mothers Day are empty if we don't recognise the universal meaning of motherhood and how that quality extends to all living beings and then find ways to reciprocate that love…

If you become Nature’s lover, Nature will surely give up all of its secrets to you… Family is a metaphor for the fractal organization of the Universe. Your inbreath and outbreath mirror the toroidal energy field that embodies the paradoxical material/non-materiality of every “object.” Weather patterns are resonant energy patterns of polarity that affect the planet similarly to how your mood can change inexplicably as resonant energy patterns move around you……

I have a confession... I'm one of those people that talks against a movie because I am always looking to be five steps ahead of the action as it unfolds. Yup, I get it... SUPER annoying! I'm thinking it might be the other side of getting glimpses into the things that are yet to come, is that I begin to try to apply that gift to all aspects of my life. Yea, that would be my ego trying to control the scenes again.
You see, the Universe calls on us to let go and allow…

"Sleep is not the opposite of awakening. Illusion is the opposite of awakening. Sleep has no opposite."
Georgi
Sleep. In the world of inner growth, it is the elephant in the room. The great, enlightened wake-up call is suggesting that humanity is asleep - as if sleep were darkly unenlightened, redundant, purposeless and uninspired.
Awaken to Sleep
Some insights into the mysteries of sleep…

The more I meditate, the more I see just how easily triggered I can become. It’s not that I’m getting angry any more than I used to, in fact it’s the opposite; but rather I’m aware of the ridiculous number of triggers there can be in a single day. Did I just say triggers? Really? This has become the socially acceptable word for feeling pissed off.
Our anger can have lots of different dance numbers. If you’re willing to pay attention, you can become intimate with the clever…
