Both of you will benefit profoundly from the deep sharing, exploration and communication that can occur when someone is grieving. This is especially true if you’re willing to think outside of the box and go beyond the conventional boundaries of grief discussions.
Your task, if you really want to help your friend, is to take them gently through these three conversations outlined…

Truly loving, nurturing and sustainable relationships are not happening for a great many of us. The reasons for this have to do with our ego getting in the way, with our unwillingness to be more thoughtful, tolerant and considerate, with our unwillingness to rise above the battlefield, to release our anger and resentments from the past, to effectively communicate, to negotiate differences and to establish, maintain and respect boundaries.
I say unwillingness because although it may be…

About 7 years ago, I received an interesting phone call from a Fort Lauderdale woman named Beverly who identified herself as “skeptical but desperate.” She’d been given my name and phone number by a friend who’d seen my card somewhere and said she loved her dog enough to have me talk to her even though, she kept repeating, she had doubts. She had made a veterinary appointment for 7 am to euthanize Boo, an 11 year old Dalmatian with Cushing’s syndrome, a disease that damages…

To followers of Hinduism, inner peace is a balance of the Chakras, the life force centers that govern our minds and bodies. To a Buddhist, it is a state that can be reached by opening our minds to others and focusing on our internal selves, rather than on external influences. To a Zen master, the path to inner peace is one…

BBBBBRRRRIINNG! It's the alarm, again. Get up, wash scrub, eat, drink, dress, say good by, drive, work, drive, change, eat, sleep and repeat. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, for most it is all too familiar. So what is missing? Time for play, that's what.
Are you aware that all animals play? Dolphins blow bubbles to play with or use flotsam to toss to each other. Horses run and kick just for fun, they will play chase and tag with the dog.…

There is a clear space deep within each of us, right inside the present moment, where peace lives. One day we will all find it, but not until we can learn to be still.
We are so very restless.
Humans have become incredibly skilled at avoiding ourselves. That restlessness? That uneasy, vague feeling of emptiness that so many of us experience? That is just the tip of the iceberg that we are trying to avoid.
Many of us experience this…

Everything in Nature follows its cycles. From planets to atoms everything is moving and spiraling in cycles, the way it was intended by Nature. There is a time for everything – a seed becomes a sprout, the sprout grows into a stem with leaves, the stem grows into a bud, the bud becomes a flower and then the flower turns into a fruit which fulfills the mission of the seed. We as spiritual beings in material bodies also have our cycles of life. There are certain lessons we have to learn and…

Sounds Within
We have the greatest stream of information – reflecting our subconscious mind - surrounding us all the time. Our truth is hiding from us – in plain sight! With a little education we can take advantage of so much more!
It has been shown that as a crystal breaks out light into component pitches (wavelengths)… that a piece of software breaks out your voice into component pitches. We see our emotions,…

Tree pose seems easy enough.
Standing near the wall, I lift my leg up towards my inner thigh. I don't quite hit the right area and my foot falls somewhere near my knee. Lifting up trough my spine, I rotate my hip out in attempt to push my leg out. And then I waver.
My hand touches the wall briefly as I steady myself. Finding a spot in front of me, a smudge on the wall, I try again to regain balance. I let go of the wall, lifting up with…
