You should write a book. Yes, you. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living. It doesn’t matter what your personal experiences are. Whether you do it to challenge yourself or to share something special with others, you have a book inside of you. Not convinced? Check out these seven reasons to start writing a book.

You Will Learn so Much in The Process

It doesn’t matter if you are already an expert in your subject of choice. As you write your book you will learn even more. Of course, your increasing knowledge won’t be limited to your topic. You will learn about yourself, your strength and weaknesses. You will learn what it takes not only to write your book but also to edit it, market it, and find a publisher. If you decide to make this a wholly solo endeavor, you’ll also learn about self publishing. As you fact check and research, you’ll also learn that there are things you thought you knew, but didn’t.

You Could Make Some Money

Thanks to Amazon, the increased ease of self-publishing, and the internet consumer’s thirst for information on very specific topics, it costs much less to get an eBook published, and it’s much easier to find an audience willing to pay money to read what you have written. This is because Amazon and other online book retailers have very specific categories in which you can place your book. Does this mean you will make hundreds of thousands of dollars and gain a worldwide legion of fans clamoring to read your next book? Probably not (but maybe!). What you can do, if you work hard to find your target audience and market your book, is turn a small but decent profit.

It’s Therapeutic

If your book is going to based upon your personal story and experiences, it’s easy to see how that would be therapeutic. However, the truth is that writing a book is like therapy regardless of the subject. Writing a book is a bit like tackling a large home improvement product. You have tough decisions to make. You are bound to make mistakes that make you want to give up altogether. You’ll cry in frustration. There will be periods of time where you won’t be very pleasant to deal with whatsoever. At the same time, you’ll find each milestone you reach extremely rewarding, and when you are finished you’ll realize how cathartic the entire experience was.

You Are Important And You Have Important Things to Share

It doesn’t matter who you are, you have something valuable for share, and there are people out there whose lives will be made better because you choose to write a book. Your personal story and the things you’ve learned from your experiences can help somebody who is where you once were right now. The professional skills you’ve gained, your ideas, and your advice can cause ripples in your industry and inspire others to build on your work and do amazing things. Most importantly, you don’t need to be a brilliant writer. You can get proofreading, editing, and other assistance from a custom writing service to ensure that your work is polished and professional.

It’s a Great Way to Establish or Build Your Brand

If you are interested in establishing or expanding your personal or business brand, writing a book is a great way to do that. What better way is there to express your values, your beliefs, your interests, and your abilities than writing a book. Blog posts and social media content are both helpful when it comes to brand development, but nothing is quite as useful in helping your audience truly get to know who you are and what you or your business represent.

You’ll Become a Better Writer

When it comes to improving your writing skills, practice absolutely makes perfect. Not only will you improve your grammar, spelling, and punctuation, you will also learn better ways to express your ideas. Then, when it comes time for you to begin the process of editing and proofreading, you will really begin to perfect your ability to be clear and concise. The skills that you learn writing your book will help you become a stronger communicator.

You Will Learn What You Can Really do

Some people have compared writing a book to giving birth to a child. It’s painful and there are points along the way where you want to quit. However, if you persevere, you will know exactly what you are capable of. Better yet, you might become addicted enough to the process that you decide to do it all over again.

Writing a book is a difficult task, but so rewarding. Find the story that is yours to tell. Then, grab a pen and paper or your laptop, and start working on your creation.

Hi, Patrick - your submission is filled with embedded links that are for sites other than your own. While we would encourage your own journey as "an entrepreneur and freelancer," you may want to tighten the wording of your own bio, and if you have references please include them as such at the bottom of your article instead of within it. Readers would much rather find out more about you as an expert. This is not moving forward to publishing. ~ Blessings!
