Everyone knows about eating eggplant for preventing cancer and for powerful antioxidants that prevent disease. But most people don’t know that eggplant smoothies and water are also great for weight loss and for lowering blood pressure. Eggplant contains saponins which help to prevent the absorption of fats… thus helping with weight loss.
And eggplant is a powerful diuretic that works wonders for getting rid of excess water weight around the arms and around the waist. And being a good diuretic it also helps to detox the body in general. Also eggplant smoothies helps to reduce cellulitis, and get rid of inflammation, and inflammation is the starting point of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, strokes, and even cancer. And eggplant contains a compound that relaxes arteries thus lowers blood pressure… and extra added bonus.
A study presented at the American Chemical Society showed that people who were dieting and drinking a glass of eggplant water or smoothie lost 30% more weight… than those that just changed their diet.
Drinking a large glass of eggplant smoothie 20 minutes before eating a meal can prevent the absorption of fats.
How to make an eggplant smoothie:
Take one large organic eggplant and cut it into small cubes, either with the skin on or the skin removed. It will be a little more bitter with the skin on, but the skin contains a powerful anticancer agent called Nasunim which is a powerful antiangiogenic compound that keeps cancer cells from creating a blood supply… thus preventing tumor formation.
Bring everything to a boil in a large pot with enough water to cover all the eggplant. Then let it boil for 15 to 20 minutes, then allow the everything to cool completely. Next pour everything into a blender and blend with lots of fresh lemon juice and lemon zest until nice and smooth. Some people even add a little bit of garlic to make this drink even healthier.
Drinking at least 8 oz daily of eggplant smoothie daily will help with weight loss, inflammation, and it’s a natural laxative, and a powerful diuretic.
How to make eggplant water:
And alternate method of using eggplant for weight loss is to make eggplant water. Cube up one large organic eggplant like before and cook the cubed eggplant in a large pot with enough water to cover everything. Then let cool, remove the eggplant for later use, and drink any where from 1 to 10 glasses cool eggplant water daily with a little bit of lemon added. Drink 1 or 2 large glasses of eggplant water 20 minutes before meals. Or drinking one glass daily the first week, and then move up to 4 or 5 glasses a day the second week.
According to the University of California Davis Japanese eggplant releases more compounds into the water so it might be best to use Japanese eggplant if possible… but regular organic eggplant will also work.
Also eggplant water and smoothies lower cholesterol. Because eggplant contains chlorogenic acid and 13 other powerful antioxidants that lower bad cholesterol or LDL cholesterol. In studies with rats given eggplant water their cholesterol dropped drastically.
Eggplant smoothies help regulate blood sugar. And those who have insulin resistance become more reactive to their own insulin thus helping to lower blood sugar… making it great for those who suffer from diabetes.
Alternate method for making eggplant water:
Another way to make eggplant water is to take cut up eggplant and place it in a large jar with enough water to cover everything, and the juice and zest of one lemon. The juice and zest of the lemon helps the eggplant to release more of the healing agents into the water. Place a lid on the jar and place in the frig overnight, or at least for 8 hours. Then remove the eggplant and drink the water as needed. Honey or any other sweetener or natural flavor can also be added to the water to make it taste great.
Remember to always use organic eggplant to make sure there are no herbicides, pesticides, and other chemicals in the eggplant. And also make sure it’s not GMO eggplant by always eating organic.
So here is a very healthy way to drop 10 to 20 pounds easily and become healthy. Plus lower blood pressure, help prevent cancer, get rid of excess water weight, detox the body in general, help with inflammation, and help prevent the absorption of fats. And anytime we can lose some weight we always feel better, look great, and our self esteem skyrockets.
